What's New in Version 5.12.4
• Live Tracking Improvements - we've sharpened our eagle-eye Live Tracking technology to make this feature even better
• Other fixes - we've dusted off and tidied up a little with some general fixes around the app
Problem with IOS 9
I use this app nearly every day and it's a great way to keep track of your routes, speeds, and (with an additional monitor) your heart rate while riding. The only problem I've seen seems to be a result of IOS 9. All works well until you share your activity on Facebook or Twitter. You can share from the desktop without problem but if you share from the app, all your split data, heart rate info, and speeds disappear. And it affects the information uploaded to the cloud too, so even the web display loses this valuable information. I will keep using MMR for every ride, but no more sharing on social media until the authors come out with an IOS 9 friendly version.
MapMyRide, the cyclist's second best friend.
Everyone who rides needs this, like good shoes and and a helmet. First, it's a speedometer, so a newby can watch their speed increase with strength and confidence. It's a mapper that you can use to repeat part of a ride, or avoid a bad part. And it tells you how many calories you've burned, so how crazy you can go at Manhattan Beach Creamery. (Just kidding. I wish.)
One star is lost to some minor user interface problems... It seems to want to pause when it shouldn't and leave a gap in your record.
Oh, the Best friend... the guy (or person of alternate gender) at the bike shop (BikeAttack) who makes your bike problems disappear.
I like map my ride for all you can do on it & how it talks to me. The challenges are great and I have even won stuff before. The problems are that how to use it with other apps, it's not clear on how to do that. Sometimes it's stops in the middle of a ride and I don't get full credit for my ride, or if I stop my heart monitor first it doesn't show my workout. I've tried to contact map my ride by e-mail to ask what happened to my membership (that I won) because when I had to re download the app it disappeared. No one has ever gotten back to me. I which there was a way to create routes that I can challenge others to beat.
