What's New in Version 5.10.2
Thanks for using MapMyRide!
We've fixed a few bugs and made some overall enhancements.
Perfect for biking
All I need to do is start a workout, then I can stick it in the back pocket of my bike jersey and take off. There is no need to actually create a route each time you go out but if you want to it is really simple. This app works quite flawlessly and I try to beat previous records that I set. I have not bought the paid version of the app but the paid version comes with a cool feature I would relate to a road id. It notifies those in your list where you are and they are able to track you along your journey, a feature that would come in handy in an emergency. All in all a great app, try it out!
Seems to work!
It was really cool when it told me averages and distance at 5 miles in...I didn't even know it did that and it was helpful.
I found out you can change when it gives you splits, on short rides I like 2 mile splits while listening to music, on longer rides I like the 5 mile splits.
Word of warning, be careful when pausing and resuming a workout, sometimes it forgets what's it's doing until you realize you have heard a split in a while and then it gets screwed up missing mileage and splits until a new workout is started. Still good though, going to try Strava per a friends suggestion.
Nice, but could be better
It does the job and is accurate. The voice feedback is cool since it tells me my distance, average speed and time spent cycling every 5 miles on my headphones so I don't have to stop and look at my phone.
BUT it really needs to be able to sync with MyFitnessPal! Both apps are owned by the same company so I don't know why this isn't already a feature. It would just be nice to have all my calories, meals and workouts all together in order without having to enter the same info in two apps.
