Description

It is the year 2034.

Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within.
Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above.

But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the military vaults of D6 - a gigantic bunker complex rumored to contain food, medicine, weapons... and maybe more. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever.

As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…

Best FPS game on Mac, but there’s space for improvement

Metro last light is a game about an young man named Artyom tries to save the Metro that they live in. You have to fight some mutated monsters, and some human enemies. This game is not like Call of Duty, which is loud all the time. Metro last light gives me a quiet, horror survival feeling some times.

The graphics of this game is like dead island, it’s playable using a mid 2014 mac book pro at about medium setting. ( I think it's around 30 FPS )

Everything has a down side. First of all, the DLC of this game don’t want to download when I purchased it. I also studied the PC version of Metro Last Light, and I found out that there’s MSAA and FXAA in the PC version, but there’s no AA for mac. The graphics option became a simple bar instead of Low, Medium, or high. There’s also some annoy glitchs that made me stuck under the map. really want to smash my computer sometimes because I can’t play the Redux version with such graphics card.

Gaming at its Finest

Metro: Last Light follows the story of a young man named Artyom as he tries to save the human race. In this beautifully crafted game (which supports retina display) there is a very well thought out and immerseful storyline. Something to know for potential gamers… this is not a COD styled first person shooter where you have infinite health and mow down heards of enemies; rather it is a very slow-pased and realistic survival like game.

I play Metro on a late 2013 Macbook Pro w/ Retina Display. I have 8 gigs of ram which easily ran the game but it is recomended to have a discrete graphics card like stated in the descrition to enjoy the full benifits of its futuristic graphics. I strongly recomend to purchase this game as its storyline and looks will blow you away… (nothing like this can be found on the App Store exept for something like Tomb Raider).

A little note: spoiler alert. I recomend you to read about this game (both the book and research on MetroWiki) because there are little extras like moral points which can change how the game plays out because this is a somewhat non-linear game :). I strongly recommend to any serious gamer out there looking to add something special to their arsenal and I would purchase the Ranger Mode DLC.

Irritated

All cut sences load but nothing else. The game starts with no chance to alter setting. the first time game started for me my breath was taken away by graphics and was amazed by how far mac gaming has come in 1 year but when the game started everythng was white. i quickly loaded the options and saw how pitiful they where. For video options there is a quality bar nothing else no, texture quailty change, no motion blur alteration, no FOV slider, and the audio options are just as pitiful. If the opening cut sence hadn't jaw dropped me the way it did this game would have a one start by me. i have deleted and redownloaded this game 3 times and it has changed the game a bit that things load to the point i can almost see somthing but this is still unplayable. Please fix this. This game has great potential. If this gets fixed ill change my review but until then my 2 star stays as my vote.
