I’ve used Mint for years and have lots of experience with all its tools. It is the best way to monitor every transaction that comes through our family. Best tools include split transactions, creation of tabs that can then be hidden from the budget. I use these extensively for off-budget purchases. I create transactions to transfer funds between budget line items that roll over every month. Make sure you get all of the intra-budget adjustments made by the end of the month, because you cannot adjust a previous month and expect the rolled over budgets to adjust accordingly. Moreover, sometimes Mint just completely forgets what you did in previous sessions. Not as bad now as previously, but it still occurs.
Overall, this is a great tool. I got the best credit card I’ve ever had based on a Mint recommendation (AMEX Preferred Blue Cash).
Great app - with all the features you need
I used to pay for quicken which did less of what I wanted and Mint is free. It connects to whatever accounts you want and budgeting functionality is fantastic. I frequently recommend Mint to many people. If you aren’t budgeting and tracking with a program like this, you are wasting money every month that you could be investing in your future. It’s a pretty simple recipe....spend less than you make and invest what’s leftover. Track your spending and you’ll be surprised how much you are wasting. Mint makes it easy with automatic categorizing of expenses and easy to use mobile functionality. Stop wasting money with expensive programs, when Mint is all you need.
Almost perfect. Still deserves 5 stars.
This is my go to app for all things finance. It gives me a general overview of everything going on in my accounts and car/school loans. I also really love the tips and suggestions on new credit cards or investment even if I don’t use it often. Things to note, Mint refreshes often and manually but it sometimes doesn’t update a transaction of the same day or a day old. Bill pay doesn’t always work for me. And it signs me out even with finger scan most times the app has an update. So there are minor inconveniences for the wide array of benefits they offer.
