Critique and Development

The computers, or "bots," as they are frequently called, are entirely too easy to manipulate and predict. The inequities of the AI and human rationale create enormous discrepancies between patterns played here versus real life. In short, the electronic version is too incongruous for practice.

Furthermore, I would personally embrace, and lavish with approbation, the addition of "turn-based" online multiplayer, similar to that of Scrabble (also produced by EA). Essentially, allowing users to decide between 24-72 hour increments, by twelves, the pace of a given game. Obviously, there would need to be the ability to allow numerous games as desired. (I currently have 47 Scrabble games running simultaneously.) "Forfeits" could easily be handled by returning the property to the bank, along with funds. Trades could be in the 'background' of play, consistent with real life. The other aspects of the game ought to remain intact, especially auto-pay and the entire electronic banking system. This playing option should simply have the standard rules: $1500, no starting properties, $250+taxes to Free Parking. NO: slight of hand, property grab or rent dodge.

With every update, I hope to see my aforementioned platform implicated and developed. Otherwise, the monotony of the game as it exists becomes mind-numbing, to say the least.

Garbage

There are so many things wrong with this game. From small things like the sound stops working after about once around the board... To other dumb things like constant commercials: want to create a new game -- did you know you can have access to more game tokens if you sign up for some stupid service (which doesn't let you sign up because the registration process is broken). Or how about every time a game ends they try to force feed ads for other apps. Or how about all the stupid animations that really have no place in Monopoly. This game would be much better and likely cheaper without all this garbage.

And the most annoying thing is the game just blatantly cheats. You can overcome this last part by just abusing the AI which is incredibly stupid even at the hardest setting. That is, if the other computer players don't abuse each other first and give themselves monopolies, which they do as soon as possible for a pittance.

I'm a big fan of Monopoly in general, but this app is garbage. I wish game developers would realize that they can get more money from customers if they give them what they want, and not dilute potentially good games with nonsense like trying to advertise their other titles and stupid services. I would not recommend this game, and will do my best to stay away from EA games in the future.

Most people strongly dislike the game for an obvious reason:

This game is awesome if you like computer opponents who exist in a world of complete and total statistical rigging. Even on "easy" difficulty I was just sent to jail 3 times in 8 rolls, while the computer landed on positive draws of Community Chest and Chance. Even better is watching myself ironically land on the computer's only property with stacked real estate, while I see the computer miraculously land on my only mortgaged property 3 times in one session. So refreshing to have an AI opponent with only 7 properties, and I miraculously land on its only property with houses three times in a row around the board. Pretty ironic to land on chance twice in one round on the board, and am billed 4.5 million for my houses BOTH times. Ridiculous. This game is no longer fun after 15 minutes of gameplay; don't even bother downloading it... The game developer who worked out the math model for this game should really change this, as this is one of the least engaging games I have ever downloaded.
Playing with another person seems to be kosher, which lends be to believe even more that the computer is heavily favored in the game's AI math model. I've really given this game a chance, but I'd rather delete it, and avoid other EA titles if this, a flagship game, is so pathetic to play.
