Moonlight Mahjong is Mahjong Solitaire in virtual reality 3D, designed specifically for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. Intuitive touch control allows you to tilt and turn, zoom in and out to match tiles in 3D. Play “arcade style” with progressively difficult levels and high scores, or relax with one of the non-competitive game modes. The gameplay is simple yet addictive.
Moonlight Mahjong features four main types of play:
• Scramble Mode: Match tiles faster than the automated opponent "Tilebot" through increasingly difficult levels. The board is automatically reshuffled when you run out of matches, making this game mode easy to start and fun, yet challenging on the higher levels.
• Challenge Mode: Compete against Tilebot in full puzzle mode, with no automatic reshuffling, only undo. Challenge requires more strategy than Scramble. This is the ‘pure’ form of the game, but it is difficult!
• Puzzle Mode: Solve puzzle boards with no time limit. Choose any layouts you like. This is the original game mode, what people usually think of as Mahjong Solitaire.
• Relaxation Mode: Clear boards with no time limit and automatic reshuffling when out of matches. Perfect for when you're just not in the mood to strategize or rush.
This free advertising-supported version of Moonlight Mahjong features five complete game modes (the main four, plus 'Lightning Mode'). The full version of Moonlight Mahjong offers a few additional features with no advertisements.
Moonlight Mahjong is the original 3D Mahjong Solitaire on iOS, having debuted with the launch of the App Store in 2008. It has been honored as a "Best Board Game" on the App Store, and was in the original Best 100 Apps and Games on iLounge.com.

What's New in Version 3.1.3
By popular demand (plea, really): If you cancel out of the Game Center login, you will no longer see the Game Center login. To sign into Game Center after cancelling, go to Options -> Player and turn “Game Center Login” back on, and then exit and return to the app; or go to the Settings app under Game Center and sign in.
Also by request: If you attain the Dragon Master achievement (1,000,000 points in Scramble), you can now start at level 40.
Starting at Level 30 in Scramble is now enabled when you reach the Green Dragon achievement at 500,000 points - down from 600,000 previously.
You can now disable the parallax visual effect, if you don’t like it, under Options.
Tilebot should now always pause during the Game Center sign in.
This update is in direct response to user feedback. As always, your positive reviews are appreciated.
THIS GAME CHEATS!!! Come on game maker, make this game fun! The tilebot goes too fast, and you know it! Nobody I know can beat it while they search for hidden tiles and rotate the 3-D layout. This game is appealing because it is 3D. Moving the tiles takes time, but the tilebot does not have this struggle. Therefore, the tilebot wins most often, and especially when one gets to levels close to 40. Lose to the tilebot and the player is thrown back 3 levels. I have been to level 45 but I always get knocked back when they put up a gigantic multi-layered layout. There is no way I can win as I have to move the puzzle to different angles to find well hidden matches. Player also cannot shuffle tiles so you get stuck looking for one tile and run out of time. The game never shows you the match you missed - sometimes I think the game is in error and there really was no match available while the tilebot rushes ahead and wins... again!
Make it a fairer competition, then we could see more levels. It could be more fun. Even tho I continue to play sometimes, I try to ignore the levels, and the tilebot, but it is truly frustrating. This app is an idea that has not been worked out into a competitive game. Addictive, but futile.
THIS GAME CHEATS!!!
Countdown clock & multiple attempts to win each round please
It's ridiculous to be sent back 3 rounds for 1 lost round especially when you've done awesome and won a dozen or more in a row. Why don't you have countdown clock for each round and give multiple chances for each lost round (playing same board for each) based upon how many you've won in a row? Love the game but it feels like the game cheats and won't let you keep winning. It's like once you lose it throws the harder boards at you with less time to complete them just to knock you back a half dozen + levels. Very frustrating and makes me want to delete your game. Make it fair please.
Loved it on my Mac and even more on the iPhone!
Great graphics, backgrounds and sound effects make it look and feel amazing. The multitouch controls are fluid and natural which make it very easy to play. Without a doubt my favorite mahjong app.
I've played this on Mac, iPad, and now iPhone. Runs great on every platform, the controls are still fluid and intuitive on each device, and it's still my favorite mahjong app.
The only thing I'd currently like to see is the ability to shuffle at any time, maybe for a penalty of some sort. It would be really appreciated. I guess that's part of the challenge though.
