Great App-Last update is good and not so good

This app is among a handful of my most-used and -valued apps, and I’m grateful to have it. This update made the whole experience of finding content somewhat easier-it’s visually cleaner and more appealing and makes it possible to see a much fuller description of the content of each episode. But some things that I relied on a lot are now gone (particularly being able to close the app and return to the same episode, same place I left off and the ability to create playlists of episodes for easy access on hikes or runs or in the car). And one thing I hoped would be fixed wasn’t-episodes for series are arranged so that, at the end of one episode, the app automatically plays the previous (not the next) episode. This is inconvenient on a run (especially in the winter) and in other circumstances. And I was never able to figure out how to configure playlists to avoid the problem. I hope these issues get fixed soon, but I like the app enough that it gets 4 stars anyway.

What happened?

It looks cleaner, but seem to have lost all its functionality. One of the things I used most was the favorites list. I can't seem to find a way to put all my favorite conference talks in one place anymore. The second feature I used every day on the old app was that I could be listening to a conference session, hit stop when a talk was over, then the next day hit play to pick up where I left off. Can't seem to do that anymore. Now I have to remember which year, session, and talk I was listening to, click through several layers and screens to get back to that conference session and then find the talk I was on and click play. That makes this a horrible update overall when it comes to simplicity of use. In other words, the two main features I used are now gone. Why?!

Loses audio when fading to auto-lock

This has been one of my favorite apps, but the latest update has a major glitch. New layouts always take a while to get used to, and I think this one is no exception. I love the larger play bar, that makes it MUCH easier to rewind or skip ahead in small increments. The biggest problem now is that when I am listening to an audio program, the audio completely fades out when my phone fades to auto-lock. In order to keep the audio going, I have to keep tapping the screen. Fix that issue and it will be much better!
