myTifi uses the revolutionary Smart Control; one screen to control all basic functions of your TV:
• Swipe gestures to change the volume and channel.
• Configurable buttons with the network logo; just press a logo and your TV goes to the matching channel (e.g. 28) directly! This even works with digital media boxes via the IR extender on the F-Series and H-Series TV.
• Start TV apps on a Samsung K-Series (model year 2016) or later TV.
• Directly switch to a source (like HDMI-1) with customizable buttons (like "PlayStation")
• Tap with 2 fingers to mute.
• Macros; record a series of commands to easily replay them later. E.g. the volume 10 levels down during commercial breaks.
• Auto-Mute; on an incoming or accepted phone call, the Mute command is send to suppress the audio. When the call is finished it is send again to restore the audio.
• Auto-Zap; let myTifi cycle through your favourite channels, to search for an interesting broadcast or populate your EPG quickly.
• iCloud; share your settings between all your devices.
The tab 'Navigate' can launch the TV web browser directly. Control the cursor with your finger with the touchpad.
Send text to your TV with the iOS keyboard, e.g. a web address.

When you use an external set-top Box (STB) to watch television (such as Xfinity or Sky), you need to configure the function 'Universal Remote' in your TV Menu. The TV will then transmit the commands from myTifi to the STB, so it will switch channels.

Don’t waste your time!
This is my communication with their support member:
The reason many users attempt to download an app version remote is because either their original remote is missing or doesn’t work. You don’t have any written disclaimer which I’m your own words “ The authorisation screen is a Samsung protection to allow a mobile device once.
The only input device for a TV, is the physical remote”. So the only fact in this situation is that I wasted several hours of my time trying to get your app functioning that clearly could have been avoided if you only would have provided the information that you clearly have knowledge of. So perhaps is a fair assumption. to state 1/2 of the 7 million downloads were frustrated uses who eventually got no use from this app. So please don’t count me as a user in your statistics. I agree this app is free to download but you have premium upgrades which I would have been interested in but instead I’m forced to put all your hard work in the trash. My time is valuable so perhaps you should consider reimbursing me and the million other dissatisfied users as well who got nothing out of this but a headache. It’s obvious that you don’t mention this because you don’t want to turn away potential customers at the front door even if that means not being upfront and honest. A simple one like disclaimer would have saved millions of folks like me from attempting to accomplish the impossible. This is no way to do business!!!!

Venting your frustration to our email Customer Support wasn't clearly enough, as you decided to repeat it in public.
Besides from the exaggerations and false accusations, we could use your feedback to improve myTifi for the next update.
The information in the popup will be extended, to show that the original TV remote is required to approve the Samsung security request. It will also explain how to do this by using the few buttons on the TV itself, in case there is no original TV remote. This has helped all our customers who didn't have the remote. Instead of the "millions of folks" that you mentioned, it were maybe 200.
Exaggerating, making assumptions and blaming others seem to be your way of communicating.
If your time would have been so valuable, why would you have ever spend "several hours" on something minor?
You could have sent us an email right away. As you have experienced, you got a friendly response from us within just half an hour.
That's how we do business; we provide Customer Support for a free product and use feedback to improve it.
But you didn't want our help anymore, you wanted a reimbursement of a free app and found us a great target to focus your anger on.
The result? You lost even more time, got more frustrated and still can't control your TV.

Samsung tv remote and so much more....
This is by far one of the best apps I have come across for replacing my Samsung tv remote. The original remote that came with tv is very hard to use. Unlike most tv remotes... the channels are located toward the bottom, the layout takes some time getting used to, and you can not see it in the dark. With the MyTifi remote, this eliminates the hassle of these issues. I also love the feature of the mousepad when using the internet through tv. It makes it so much more easier to use. It even brings up a keyboard to type in for searching, which saves so much time. Way better than the one letter at a time, that is normally entered with a regular remote. And if you are an Apple Watch owner, it gets even better, as you can control every function from the wrist. The layout for Watch is very well laid out and simple to use. Love controlling the channels, volume, searching, etc from the watch. There are so many features and choices for this app that you can not go wrong with it. For the $2.99 I paid, you can not beat its price, function, and usefulness. Not to mention... you could not go buy a new remote for that price. I normally do not give reviews, but this is one app I would give 5+ stars.

I love this app! Seriously... I don’t know about you but somehow my TV remote is always disappearing, especially with my 2 year old twins running around. Also, my husband does not know or care to know about technology in today’s world. He’s stuck in the past you know with the cassette players, flip phones, and his response to “Do you have a Facebook page or Instagram?” is along the lines of “Why would I put my face in a book? I can see just fine.” or “Instagram?? Woah man we don’t do grams around here” yeh that one made me spit my drink out. Oops! But OMG! I wish I would of recorded his face one night when the remote vanished and I casually grabbed my phone and turned the volume up and I looked over at my husband and I have never seen him so amazed! So I think he intentionally hides the remote now just so he can see if my phone will control the TV again. I might just have to teach him how to use a smart phone here soon because lately all I hear is “Can I change the tv please can I use your phone come on let me!” Lol I love my husband he definitely keeps us smiling! Awesome App! Great job! Easy to use... even my cave man husband can operate it! Very handy! Two thumbs up!
