Bug fixes and enhancements
Great App for those who like to mix it up!!
This app is the best kept secret in the App Store. I've been working out on and off for the past 15 years, the question I get asked the most by people looking to get started "is how do I find the time?" My answer to that is to make a schedule and stick to it. It can be 5 or 10 minutes a day twice a week to start. Once you have a solid base you can expand on that. The Nike+ Training App takes the guess workout out for you. It gives you a schedule and shows you EXACTLY what to do. I can't stress this enough. Move by move, step by step it's in there!!! The app even lets you move days around to stay on course in the event that things come up when your schedule to be working out. The Nike+ Training App is phenomenal and I recommend to any and everyone I run into who looking to get started on the road back to good health.
Why only for women? (Updated review)
This app was amazing before, and continues to raise the bar. If you're looking for a program to keep you honest about working out, or if you're looking at Beachbody or some paid service, do yourself a favor and try this first. Program flexibility has been addressed, and the integration with Nike+ is seamless. I'm a huge, vocal fan.
One small recommendation:
The programs need to be editable for the equipment available. For example, I'm in the middle of a strength program, but the app wants me to use a rowing machine and suspension straps that my little gym doesn't have. A simple fix the old version of the app had was the option to swap out the occasional exercise - exercises that use more advanced equipment could come with an alternate exercise already built in.
(Old review below)
This app is amazing, download it now. A few recommendations for the designers:
1) I should be able to select my gender on my profile, and when I share a workout, it shouldn't say "Nike+ Training Club - Women's Fitness App". It should just say "fitness app" if you want men to enjoy and share the app too.
2) make the 4 week programs more flexible. Sometimes I have to adjust the workout days, but if I miss a workout on a certain day, the app doesn't give me credit for the whole program.
Easy fixes guys (& gals)!
Lots to choose from for all levels and interests
This app is great, makes it fun, and I love that I can still listen to my own music all while I do the workout. Bluetooth headphones also definitely makes it more fun so you can move around freely in a busier gym but still set your phone somewhere to see the proper form for moves. These upgraded videos that don't make you pause to watch the preview of how it's done are much better than the older version that I last used. I did wish they had the feature to swap out moves that require certain equipment from a workout or from building your own plan. My apartment gym has a decent amount of equipment but they don't have it all, would be great to filter by what you have available or swap out a move for something comparable with a different item in the gym.
