Oh Hi! Octopi! is part arcade platformer and part color-matching puzzler that has you battling a never ending stream of Octopi.
With nothing but your trusty hammer, paint bubbles (and the occasional bomb) you must knock out rows of same colored Octopi to progress from round to round. Arrange dazed Octopi for large combos + points but be careful, the longer you play the faster they move!

The instructions are hidden in the settings button--and aren't much help.
You can't hammer repeatedly without also moving... Yet the game requires you to repeatedly hammer a precise spot for an annoyingly long time! Never gonna happen. Bad controls.
You're supposed to match the ball colors and the octopi colors... But you control the color of neither! The game simply gives you the wrong color, and there's nothing you can do about it.
You can stun the octopi, and that can change their colors... But so what? The ball goes ahead of you, so it's too late to make a match!
If this game makes any sense, neither the Help nor trial and error have revealed it to me.
Maybe all it needs is better help and better controls. The gameplay itself may be good if I could understand it. Who knows?

I love this game! Even though it is so simple with only 2 buttons, it is one of my favorites. Definitely worth 99 cents. Good for all ages. Simple gameplay, retro graphics. Once you get past Round 15 or so, it gets pretty fast. My best so far is Round 22 with a little over 5,000 points, but I hope to get higher scores.

Game itself runs extremely solid, my problem with it is that it is extremely repetitive and gets boring after level 5.
Smashing my fingers to attack gets a bit much, would rather prefer a 3 button game ( which this game totally needs ). The left side would have a move left or right and on the right would have the attack button. Keep in mind that these buttons should be able to be held down. How you incorporate the jump is for your creative mind to decide.
Game needs more game modes or randomized levels, which needs a tutorial scene when you first play the game.
Till then, I'm giving my 2 cents and hoping the developer improves this game, it has a lot of potential.
