::::::: NOTICE :::::::::
I'm working day and night on OnCue 7, the next iteration of the OnCue music player. And it's gonna be sweeet (with three e's!).
So to everyone who purchased this app: WIth patience comes great reward. Follow @OnCueApp on Twitter to stay up to date with the latest OnCue developments.
OnCue 7 will be available alongside (and exclusively for) iOS 7.
**Chicago Sun-Times tech columnist Andy Ihnatko's MacBreak Weekly 'pick of the week' 03/27/12 **
"[It's] an amazing mobile music player."
OnCue is a unique and innovative music player built to harness the power of iOS to deliver the best music-listening experience on mobile devices.
Everything centers around your Queue, a live playlist that you can build, shuffle, and rearrange while your music is playing.
OnCue is also a powerful tool for professional live performers, used every day by motivational speakers, radio hosts, musicians, and professional DJs.
* iCloud syncing
Save your queues and your Smart Queues to iCloud to access them from both your iPhone and iPad. And sync your current queue to iCloud, so it's always identical across your devices, down to the now playing song's elapsed time.
* Drag and Drop Simplicity
The easiest way to build and rearrange a music queue on the iPhone and iPad. Just grab any song's drag handle, or tap and hold on any album, artist, or playlist, to drag it right into and around your queue.
* Everything, right where you need it
See what's in your Queue, and where. See what's already played. See what's playing now, and control the player. See and access everything you need from anywhere in the app.
* A Smart way to play
Introducing Smart Queues. Create re-usable filters to queue up songs using a list of rules. Use rules to find songs by title, artist, album, genre, rating, duration, and last played date. It's the ease and functionality of iTunes' Smart Playlists right on your iPhone or iPad.
* Advanced Crossfade
Enable crossfade for gapless playback and smooth transitions between playing songs. You can even customize the "fade in from" and "fade out to" volumes so your music plays just the way you want.
* Get informed
Swipe any song in your library and tap the Info button to see the song's Lyrics, Music Videos, Artist Bio, and Similar Artists. Even preview the song before you add it to your Queue.
* Always know what's next
Wherever you are in OnCue, your Queue is just a swipe away--so you always know what's next.
* OnCue even displays the next four songs right on your Lock Screen. *
OnCue has everything you'd expect from a modern music player, and a ton more:
◆ Social networking features, including Last.fm scrobbling and customized posts to Facebook and Twitter
◆ Song scrubbing
◆ Sleep timer
◆ AirPlay support
◆ Gesture control
(Note: OnCue 6 requires iOS6. Also, because OnCue uses its own audio processor for queueing and crossfading, songs stored in the iTunes Match cloud cannot be played.)
What's New in Version 6.0
Introducing OnCue 6, re-imagined from the ground-up and fully optimized for iOS 6.
(Note: OnCue 6 requires iOS 6 or greater.)
-iPhone 5 / 4" screen optimized
-Drag / drop artists, albums, genres, or playlists right to the Queue
-Fully custom audio processor for high performance
-Consistent iPhone / iPad interface and features
-Major performance enhancements and general improvements

Broken. Please fix!
Update December 31,2012:
So I reinstalled the app (again) and dragged a couple of songs into the queue. Started playing just fine so I thought it may work this time. Had four songs in the queue and went back to find another and the song list was frozen. Tapped all over the screen but it was completely unresponsive. What is it about this app that is so hard to fix? I'm clearly not the only one having issues.
Why is it so hard to make this app stop freezing and crashing all the time? I love the concept but no matter how many updates and fixes the developer puts up I've never had a stable version that just works. Same with this latest version. I drag a song into the queue and it plays. Add a couple more, maybe they will play. Add another and the whole thing freezes solid and I have to quit the app and start all over.
Update: the new version is pretty but it's very hit and miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just now I added songs to my queue and tried to pause the song playing and the app didn't respond. Then I tapped on another song and that song started playing along with the first song! The only way to stop playback was to exit the app and kill it by double tapping the home button and shutting it down there.
Too hard to use
When Andy Ihnatko made this a "pick" I immediately bought it. Unfortunately, the controls are far from intuitive and there were many cases where the display got far out of sync with the reality if what was playing.
I've tried the new version, which has been redesigned, but the controls are even more of a bewildering mess, with mysterious tap-holds and tap-hold-swipes and icons that give little clue as to what they'll do. There are still display bugs where the text in the title bar gets overlayed with itself, making for an unreadable garble.
It looks like the developer put in serious time and effort to make an app that he, no doubt, uses every day and enjoys. It's a major effort to write something to replace the default music app and I appreciate the notion, but I think he's missed the mark for a general user like me. I don't want to play with the app. I want to play music.
Very good player
Currently this app always suffers bugs update after update. The fact deleting the app and reinstalling doesnt help. Currently my playlist don't show when you select them. When you make a custom playlist within the app it will delete itself with the next update... I honestly love this player but when it wants to work. I think developer needs to get more testing done with willing people who want beta this app so it's more stable in future releases.
I decided to pick this up after hearing it on TWiTs Macbreak weekly. After messing with it for few hours. I pretty much made it my default music player on my iPhone 4s. Features are great and the tips are very helpful. So far I see no issues on the app.
Worth it for .99 sale!
