Otocast provides a platform for narrated audio guides - used for exploring, navigating and discovering more about your surroundings, wherever you are in the world. Audio commentary for each 'point of interest' is provided by people intimately familiar with the location, whether it is the artist who created a public art piece, an architect who designed the structure, or a local resident who knows the history of a particular place. These commentaries let you interact with, and share the experience in a deeper and more engaging manner. A great way to explore art!
I'm a big fan of OtoCast both as a user and presenter. It adds so much to hear from artists and curators about their works. I love checking what's in otocast when I visit a new city. From a presenting standpoint it's a great way to enhance the experience of our public and reach new people.
Really useful
Simple interface and very interesting content make this a must-have for me wherever I go. Glad to see that they are expanding the locations where they have guides. It's also great to hear the brief audio from a number of different people, who are all connected in some way to what they are talking about.
Not accessible!
Where is the option for subtitled for those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing? Its bad enough there aren’t any sign language interpreters available at some of the tours which is why most Deaf or Hard of hearing people rather go on independent tours but with this app, that provides be ability to go on tours independently, there are audio descriptions but no subtitles!! I look forward to an update that would include subtitles and all people can benefit from it.
