Glitchy and can screw you over
I started the app and was a little learning curve no big deal. My first problem came with photos when I would hit take a series of photos the camera wouldn't move to take next photo but I got it figured out how to go around the issue so again not a huge deal. Next problem came on day 60 photos. I took the pictures as I did day one and day 30 only now it wouldn't let me keep the photos and the take photo icon wouldn't work and after 3 e-mails to the help department and after 3 reply's from them all I got was they can't help me with my phone settings. Finally it started working again a week later and I didn't make any changes to my settings. Luckily the photos were saved to my phone and I uploaded then to the app. Now the final issue, I now have completed the classic version and want to start on mass but every time I click on my programs the app closes out. I will say I loved the app for tracking workouts but it's nerve racking to think I could lose my info because I may have to delete the app and reinstall it to start a new program.
Can't fix calendar
The developer seriously needs to address the calendar/schedule. It is impossible to postpone your exercise program without the calendar getting completely messed up. Give us users the ability to Edit, because the "Postpone Program" option does not work properly, making my progress impossible to track, as intended. Instead, I'm having to manually enter every day's workout, and not properly able to track what day of the program I'm on. Isn't that why you buy this app? A smaller issue include the Alerts wanting me to "Measure Up" every single day... I don't know if that has to do with the calendar or not.
The interface is not well thought out, either. "Track Your Progress" is one of the three large buttons on the main page, and it is not something you'll use often. They should throw that into a bottom tab and make the calendar a "main page" button.
Tracking reps can be made into a faster process (since you're catching your breath between sets) if they have the reps/weights pre-filled with your previous sets (currently, you have to tap each box to pre-fill, and only the first set is pulled up... It's a small difference, but would be an improvement). Scrolling menus for entering seconds and weights is a bit slow, as well... again, small complaints, but the faster you can re-focus on the workout, the better.
It'd be nice if the programmers could get their stuff together, because this app does hide some nice features behind the messed up base programming
Still needs refinement; Apple Health and Watch support?
As a workout tracker, it's actually pretty good. It'll help you remember reps and weights, and it lists all the exercises you'll be doing. But, I think it's been sitting on its current version for a long time.
It needs to have its tap targets fixed. The sloppiest example is, when you end a workout and the app gives you a slider to record how intense you felt, the slider hardly places itself under your finger tap. Similarly rough UI issues are everywhere in the app.
Some exercise names are too long to fit in the space provided, so you have to guess whether you need to be working your right side or your left.
The nutrition log persists with using, for example, calories instead of grams for protein intake. I've never seen a food label with protein shown in calories; it's always listed as grams. I don't bother with the nutrition log because of things like this.
Finally, it needs tighter iOS integration. HealthKit has been out for a while now, and the P90X app doesn't read any data from, or write any data to, the Health app. It could take advantage of heart rate, nutrition info from other apps (like LoseIt or MyPlate), weight and height data, and many other items.
To deepen iOS integration, BB team needs to get cracking on WatchOS 2 support, too. They've got piles of cash as it is, and neglecting mobile app development feels like they just don't want to do it.
