Pandora paid subscriber
I have been a paying Pandora subscriber for 3 years now. Let's get some things out of the way now. First, there are many different options out there for streaming music with some being better then others. Pandora for me gives allows me to listen to and explore many different musicians from many different genres without having to do very much. I get bored very easily and love the wide range of music Pandora provides by simply typing in a song or artist I like. Second, if you want to listen to exact songs or albums from artists then this company is not for you. Lastly, Pandora does repeat songs and artists. If you think there is a never ending supply of new songs and artists then your wrong. You need to keep on exploring genres and artists which is part of the experience. Pandora is well worth the price to me given I use it in my car, train and for every party I host. Everyone is always happy by the variety of music and the sound quality is great. One more thing to mention, when going through a tunnel I use to get immediately cut off. Now they allow enough of the song to load/buffer for me to finish a complete song even without a signal. Keep up the good work Pandora.
The horror ads are disgusting.
I turned off the "allow explicit content" because I don't take horror well. I tend to have high anxiety when I see things like that. But sometimes you guys block certain songs. So I turned it back on. I listen to Pandora as I sleep. As I close my phone, a horror movie ad comes up. It's obnoxious. You guys constantly play the same songs over and over again. And you know what? You guys play the same advertisements over, and over, and over again. That isn't good. I understand that Halloween is coming up, but you realize that if all you do it put up scary advertisements and play the same non preservative meat ads, you're going to become a 3 star rated right? It's so inappropriate and unprofessional. Your ads are so annoying. I hate the ad with the woman giving birth. Who wants to hear that? Play better ads. Have a "I don't want to hear this ad option." Honestly, I have family who struggle with smoking and sicknesses and hearing an ad about it doesn't make it any better. But the horror advertisement flusters me the most. I don't want to listen to screaming and crying when I'm trying to sleep or when I'm using my phone. Your app becomes worse everyday, and honestly, I can see why.
Music for your mood…
If you want hasslefree music that matches your taste, consider Pandora. If Your listening style varies from music in the background to a focused interest and desire to research an artist like mine does then Pandora is ideal.
I can't imagine an easier format or more economical presentation then what you find here. The music genome project, the philosophy underlying the technology, does a good job, by and large, grouping similar songs and artists in sets; if you like to investigate the rational behind the choices Pandora makes (as I do from time to time) then reading the included bios behind the album art work is fun and fascinating. All of these blurbs have the writer's name (if not the writer's bona fides), which, for me, adds to the authenticity of these often informative and delightful mini-essays.
If you remember the radio, (well, FM radio about 2 AM circa 1974), then you'll enjoy Pandora.
