My preferred streaming music app
I absolutely Love Pandora. I've been using it for years, and have my stations dialed in pretty well according to musical genre. The only station that seems a bit "off" in its algorithmic formula is my Queen station. It's the most recent addition to my list, and I'm surprised that it offers very few of Queen's songs in the playlist. I also give a "thumbs down" every time "Hey Jude" plays on every one of my stations. I love The Beatles, but I cannot stand this one song, yet it keeps showing up for some reason (hoping it will change my mind? Not! Lastly, I use the free version, because I don't normally mind hearing an occasional ad, but I absolutely hate getting bombarded by singles ads. If I have to be subjected to ads, can you at least allow me to give a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to the content? These are just three small gripes. Overall, I love Pandora and will remain a faithful listener. I buy songs off of the link provided while the song is playing all the time, and have amassed a nice offline playlist too. I will likely move to the paid version once I trade in my car - I have a paid subscription to a competitor that I can take or leave. I just can't justify paying for two music subscriptions at this time. Thanks for being so awesome, Pandora!
(Almost) Perfect app.
I love everything about pandora, the algorithms that have helped me evolve my music taste and the social media aspect of the app are both great. I love being able to add variety to my stations and how my likes and dislikes are used to find me new music. pandora opened my eyes to a whole new world of music that I now can't imagine how I lived without. My single complaint is the ads. Not the frequency, I understand that you have to make money somehow and if I didn't want ads I would get pandora one. But if you could just change them up every once and a while, it would help me not to rip my hair out. I've listened to the same 3 or 4 ads over and over I have them memorized. Not just the words, the tone fluctuations, the background music, and the picture that comes up with each one. To summarize, I absolutely love this app, but I would love it a bit more if there was some variety in the ads. Thanks for reading!
Music Entertainment Upgraded
Seriously, Pandora has changed the way I listen to music, for the better. No more lugging around my CDs. No more hunting for a decent radio station, just to have it bought out by Ryan Seacrest a month later and start aging the same 12-song playlist over and over and over.
Granted, part of the equation that has made Pandora so successful for me is having a car stereo that is Bluetooth compatible (having an accessory Jack would also work) so that I can play Pandora on my phone and listen through my car speakers while I'm driving, which I do a lot of.
More specific to the app itself, I've found they do a really great job mixing a playlist for you based on your "thumbs-up" and "thumbs-down" selections. That means less fiddling with the app and more sitting back and enjoying tunes. Perfect in my book, thanks Pandora devs! 👍
