But we also support a lot of other types: image, document, spreadsheet, text, webpage... You will take advantage of the iPad and iPhone Retina screens and never need to print your publications anymore.
ANNOTATE | PaperShip provides a lot of annotation types which go far beyond what most of the reference managers offer (available through In-App Purchase). And as our tools are compliant with the PDF standard, your annotations will be available in most of the other readers.
METADATA | PaperShip allows you to read and edit article's metadata. You can now add tags, update title or change authors in an easy way whatever the type of document you are reading.
IMPACT | PaperShip is the first reference manager to link your articles to the new almetric data! Just know in real time what are the impacts of your publications inside the scientific community.
MANAGE | PaperShip keeps your articles organized based on your Mendeley/Zotero folders. Add a paper to your favorites or move it to another folder by using an incredible pane and swipe navigation. Your articles will always stay at your fingertips with the search engine.
IMPORT | Just import a new paper by tapping some keywords or looking at author name and PaperShip will bring it to your library. By selecting the Open Access option, you will be able to download automatically the linked PDF for free.

Truth in Using
This app is a fantastic way for interfacing with the attachments on your Zotero account. Actually, I could not find one better. However, my endorsement comes with a couple of caveats. First, it does not replace Zotero. The interface is different and really I have only found strong utilization in its ability to annotate the files. Second, the only way I could make it work as advertised was by buying Zotero's online cloud storage. My database is just about 1G and I had been housing it primarily on my hard drive. Finally, the annotation tools are identical to the ones found in the Adobe Reader app. If you were hoping for something more exquisite, then this is not for you. Overall, as I pull articles and various other works for research, this app has become a fantastic tool to allow me to conduct my reading/annotating away from the computer.
annotations not syncing with Zotero
WARNING: this app appears to have been abandoned by the developer - no updates in over a year, and no replies to my emails
Used to be a five-star app... but now any annotations that I make in the app (highlights, handwritten notes, inserting a text box) no longer get synced back to Zotero. FYI, my PDFs are stored in Box - but perhaps if you use Zotero’s cloud service, or some other, it will work?

PREVIOUS 5-STAR REVIEW
PaperShip has proven to be an amazing tool for handling papers in my Zotero database. And the developer is constantly making incremental improvements in the app.
I prefer to read scientific papers on my iPad mini instead of a Macbook screen or external display — it just feels more natural to me, more like holding a copy of a manuscript or a journal in my hands, and I would rather highlight text or add annotations with a stylus than with mouse and keyboard. This app is perfectly suited to this task.
My only complaint is the lack of any granular control over files that are on one's iPad - there are no settings for max total file size, or selective download of specific collections, and no way to clear an entire local cache other than signing out of my account.
Amazing. Been 2 days. Already love it
This is exactly the app I should have installed months or years ago. It allows me to read papers on the go without having to open my laptop. It is seamlessly synced to my zotero library. I can read papers when offline. I don't use annotation much but I guess I wouldn't mind paying for such an awesome app if I need to annotate or get more services. Would be nice if the folders and sub folders in my zotero library could be collapsed or expanded at will instead of having them all expanded. Thanks for providing such a great app and service.
