Particulars displays system information about your Mac. It shows computer name, model name, serial number, CPU, RAM, graphics card, OS version, Server version, current user, uptime, disk space and network configuration. It can used in 3 modes: on your desktop, as a Today Extension in OS X Yosemite, or at the command line.

Particulars provides up-to-date information and dynamically changes when your system changes. For instance, if you switch Wi-Fi networks, Particulars shows the new network configuration immediately.

Particulars does not replace your desktop background image and is responsive to changes in your screen or space layout. It does not require any scripts or need any complex setup.

Particulars supports many disparate network configurations including IPv6, manual addressing, multiple addresses, captive portals, PPPoE, and VPNs.

Particulars has a special 'lab mode' to ease deployment in computer labs and datacenters. See the help book for more information.

Customer Reviews

Love the app! Battery effencieny needs improvement.

I love all of the information Particulars provides, however for whatever reason, the app almost always show up in my battery menu as an app “using significant energy”. Looking in activity monitor I see the app spiking up to 25% and sometuimes as much as 70% CPU fairly regularly.
Other than that issue, the app is well designed and the CLI options make it nearly perfeact. Please address the battery issues and I will be thrilled.

Good alternative for Geektool

I like this app. It’s simple and easy to use and it’s clean. It would be cool if there were a few more options. A custom field where you could enter a command to pull up and display some other bits of system info in additional to what the app does would be nice. That’s just me being picky. This app already has all the major basics covered out of the box. FYI - This app does work as of 10.11.3.
