I'm a piano teacher of 15 years and have more and more students who want to play chords and improvise. This app is a perfect resource for them. I like it because it's thorough but at the same time very simple.
I am new to piano, familiar with some scales, and chord progressions but this app will really help me to understand and explore various combinations. I pair this app with additional learning material online to help me fully understand the math / science behind the music.
This app is great for understanding scales, chords, chord progressions, and the circle if fifths. I like the easy to use interface. It only includes common scales and chords. I have another app that has tons of complicated and confusing scales that I've never heard of much less can pronounce. I just wanted something to show me the common scales and chords, and this app does it. It also sounds the chord or scale.
- Added autoplay toggle in settings. When enabled you will hear playback whenever you select chord/scale/progression form the list or circle of fifths;
- Chord in key list now has titles (triads, sevenths, etc.);
- Fixed squashed piano and staff view on iPad;
- Fixed issue with chord details where sometimes not scrollable;
- Better support or landscape orientation across the app;
- Fixed reverse lookup crashes when octaves C2 and C5 where used;

A MUST HAVE for musicians
This might be the single most important resource for musicians, especially self taught musicians who learn and play by ear. I don't know how I made it without the tools in this simple yet powerful app but now that I found it I'm opening up my skill set to new and ascended heights. The wealth of scales available is exhaustive and the song feature is an added bonus. I was looking for an option to play a set of notes and it would tell you what chord it is and which inversion. But I find the challenge of discovering the chord on my own to be a powerful learning experience so in a way I'm happy it's not there. Get the full version if you're serious about your musicianship.
This app is fantastic!
This is essential for those who would like a little help coming up with chord progressions and remembering scales.
This app goes into detail, explaining even which fingers to use for the chord depending on whether you’re using the left or right hand.
If you have little knowledge of theory (Like me...) this app is your best friend for writing music!
I loved it so much I paid $5 for the full version!
Great tool for writing music!
so much better than expected
the developer packs a lot of features into this that I didn’t see coming. There are some UI things that could be fixed though. Like when adding chords in composition mode, there’s only the slightest indication that you added the chord you selected. Besides that, this app surprised me w how useful and intuitive it is
