Use PiP2 to show video from any webcam on your screen, nicely integrated as "Picture in Picture" which makes it ideal for live presentations, screencast recordings and in the educational sector.
PiP doesn't clutter the dock with an additional icon: After launch it automatically installs itself in the menubar and the user can define a keyboard shortcut to smoothly fade in and out the video.
- Fixed an issue which caused 16:9 video appear in letter box format on screen (black bars)
- When launching, PiP2 now checks if the last window position is still valid and resets the window's position to its default, if not. This might happen if you put PiP2's window onto an external screen and then removed this screen.

Plenty of room for more functionality
It has a nice clean interface, minimalist in nature... which is perfect for a utility such as this. It also doesn't have a noticeable affect on my overall performance, which is saying a lot considering I am running some computationally expensive simulations and data-analysis software as well. However, its video source options appear to be limited to connected hardware, or hardware-mimicking software. I would like to see options for url-sources in the future… so that I can keep tabs on weather conditions in the parking-lot while constrained to my windowless office…
Exatly what I needed
I conduct web conference from my computer and have the need to show what I am doing at some points but had no way of sharing my webcam image with the participants. Now with this app, I can share my desktop screen and then use PiP to show my webcam. I love the fact that I can switch input devices, can resize the image, toggle it on and off as needed, and the UI is so minimal and professional it doesn't distract from the functionallity of it. This was exactly what I needed to fill in a gap I had with my web conferencing software.
Perfect for Classroom Docs
I got a webcam to use as a document scanner for mey classroom. The software that came witht he device was garbage. This simple app is exactly what I need to display models of student work.
It's greatest strength for me is the ability to select "Video Device." Now I don't need a hack to prioritize the webcam over the iSight camera. This software also inverts and flips the image if you'd like. I can work with the camera out of the way and the students see the annotations I make.
Perfect to meet my needs!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
