Updated Review - credit where credit is due
I previously rated this app very poorly because of screwed up quantization and an annoying metronome. Those things still exist but I decided to stop trying to sequence by playing notes on my external keyboard but instead by drawing them manually and I must say that it performed pretty darn well.
Also the Sound Recorder is phenomenal, as it automatically records the individual midi parts, which can then be "opened in" Audioshare. For those two things and solid inter-app audio/midi performance I'm giving it 4 stars.
I've been looking for a midi sequencer app for those times when I don't have Logic with me or I just want to get some ideas down quickly. This is it. Yes, there's GarageBand, but it's a huge app with all the GarageBand fluff and, truth be told, for painting in midi sequences, this has a better feel and interface.
I've never written a review before, that's how much I like Pro Midi. Thanks, Vitaliy.
Pro on the Go
Pro Midi offers depth, power and features typically found in 'professional-grade' DAWs and desktop sequencing environments. It fills a huge gap in my iOS workflow by facilitating control/sequencing of multiple apps/instruments from within a singular, well-designed, intuitive interface. Highly recommended!
