The Norsat Satellite Locator is the easiest way to locate geostationary satellites on your mobile phone wherever you are. Just open the Satellite Finder app and point your screen at the sky to view a spatially accurate arc of satellites overlaid on your viewer. You can even customize the color of the satellite arc for easy viewing in different weather conditions. Use this app to point your Norsat or other satellite ground terminal, or just impress people with your keen knowledge of satellite locations.
The app includes an up to date almanac of satellite information, including azimuth, elevation, frequency and more. Just tap the name of the satellite of interest to open the almanac and find all the relevant details. The almanac can be easily edited, so you can make changes whenever necessary.

What's New in Version 1.2
Updated application to work with iOS7.
Works as promised
Am using on iPhone 5c running IOS8 with no problems. Very handy indeed. One of our data packages in Asia is changing to a new bird and this app honed right in on the new beam. You must make changes by going into settings and scroll down to this app. Otherwise you will go crazy trying to figure out why "it is not working". Be sure to turn permissions off when done. This app runs continuously in the background gobbling up cellular data allotment otherwise.
I have referred this app to many others.
Surprising-to-me how accurate it is.
It uses a database of magnetic declination change over time.
That worldwide database is updated something like every 10 years or so I have been told.
I have also been told we are currently in last or next to last year before being updated so is off a few degrees but after getting used to how it is off you can snake a link thru tough spots.
Every satellite tech ought to have this tool.
Maybe only come in handy a couple times a year for you but you got it...
Can't find satellites...
I open up the app and no satellites will not come up when I point phone into the sky. The sats are SW to where I am. Do you have to have a clear LOS for the sats to come up? At this point I give the app a 1star due to this issue.
