Are you worried that your orange tree looks sick? Are your citrus fruits misshapen or discolored? Think your citrus trees might have a disease? Send a photo with this free app and help save our citrus.
The SAVE OUR CITRUS app is a free mobile application from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that makes it easy to report and identify the four leading citrus diseases: citrus greening, citrus canker, citrus black spot and sweet orange scab. Report your symptoms, upload a photo and receive a response back from citrus experts.
Get information about these citrus diseases and affected areas in the United States. The app includes information and diagnostic tools for all four diseases.
Make sure your citrus is healthy and help stop the spread of these incredibly destructive citrus diseases.
How to treat the disease?
This seems to be a great at in explaining each disease and providing clear photos, however, I did not see where it provided information to combat or treat each disease. If some diseases are untreatable, then shouldn't we remove the infected tree(s) to prevent spread of the disease? A full 360 explanation would make this app a 5 star rating. Thanks, D.Doucet
Couldn't Get Data
After installing I tried opening it several times over a few days, but each time got a message saying that the app's data could not be loaded. As is, the app basically only let me file a pest report. I was hoping to get identifying information on citrus greening, but ended up deleting the app.
A great new tool for combatting spread of citrus diseases!
Vital USDA information at my fingertips on how to protect Citrus from serious disease! This is GREAT!
