Awesome, but a few things may need fixing

S. Gavin Sears

Every once in while I will go to a dead end-which is fine. However, when I try to go back to find a new tunnel, but it will also become a dead end. I may just be unlucky, but this tends to always happen eventually in long games (100+). This usually happens with a certain section where it looks like a rock falling area but you cannot enter it. As well as this, when a way the jellyfish has gone turns into a dead end, the crack at the end can be entered with a small jellyfish. This causes the player to enter a glitchy black void. Furthermore, sea anemones sometimes clip into each other and the deep sea dragon does an unnatural tail flip when it does a 180 degree turn. I don't know if these are things that can be fixed, but I hope they are (by the way, this is intended to be constructive criticism, and I mean no offense). Also, what if there is a fish that can't be seen that swims around slower than a shark. This thing would light up right before it's about to get the jellyfish. What if a tunnel leading away from the abyss-that was so desperately found-turned out to be the mouth of a giant stonefish? Spooky

Great and Mostly Relaxing Game and Suggestion

Who and Whom

I really love this game and I'm glad you're still working on this! It's an amazing idea that I can't wait to be built upon and improved. I can see this game going places. One of my favorite things to do is just sit in a anemone and watch the fish swim by. This is where I have a suggestion though. It would be really nice to sorta have a "free-play" mode, where you're either invisible to other creatures and invincible, but you don't earn points, can't collect stars or secrets, and can't eat fish. And just to prevent any easy discoveries, you could make it so only creatures that the player has discovered can spawn in this gamemode.

Developer Response

Thanks for your review!

Hiding inside a sea anemone is also one of my favorite things. :) I will add more ways to hide and contemplate in an upcoming update.

You are right, a free-play mode would be great. It has been on my to-do list for a long time and a lot of players are asking for it.
I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best way to implement it. Maybe a secret jellyfish ? Or a simple mode that you enable in the options menu?
In any case, no point and no stars would count in this game mode.
Showing only things you have already discovered is a great idea! ;)

Love it, on its way to being magical

Please keep adding more as you grow! The usual add ins--more area, more fish to find, etc. I wanna get spooked by more stuff like the huge squid in the background in the beginning; harmless stuff that throws you and your focus off. I'd say add a map but I kinda like the feeling of being lost, it's adds a special element to the game.

I love the idea of the deep ocean being boundless and full of countless new discoveries. Releasing a few new fish regularly would give us a sense of "realism" and give something to do for those that have already found everything. Man, I love this game and the creepy adventurous playful idea of it!
