Great game, but cntrls need work
The camera is a little unresponsive
Getting in close for a stealth kill is difficult without the ability to crouch-walk and feels unnatural.
There's no way to look up the controls so if I mention something as missing, that isn't, it's because the little note thing went away before I could read it.
Biggest frustration, there's no way to switch shoulders when in aim mode. You should be able to double tap the aim button while in aim mode to toggle what shoulder the camera is hovering over. With the current system, you'll only want to take left turns - which isn't always an option.
Secondly, there's no option to crouch walk. He just does it on his own from time to time. I'm not sure how necessary this is to beat the game. But it did make me feel very limited in my stealth options. Perhaps double tapping the character or quickly swiping up & down on the character to toggle crouching and standing.
WHAT I LIKE...
It's nice to see some pre-rendered cut scenes. A+ for that
I like the story telling structure, it's fun, fast paced, and interesting.
Level design & environment choices are excellent.
Texturing, lighting, & overall presentation is top-notch. The character even behaves differently when he is on the phone.
When I first heard about this game I was stoked! I mean, the CGI cutscenes are AMAZING and the graphics for this game are quite good, and surprisingly the story was majorly improved over other gameloft games.
But the problem here is that it all doesn't cohese together and the gameplay is subpar to the standard that gameloft has put out. It never really rewards you for being stealthy or not using a lot of ammo. The enemies are extremely easy and it takes little to no skill in completing this game without dying once. It just sort of feels a little rushed and the multiplayer lacks all the goodness MC:2 BP has introduced us to.
First of all, the multiplayer only let's you choose from 2 guns (unless you want to purchase a golden pistol from their inApp purchases) and there are only a couple of different game modes. Rarely do I ever see players online so the multiplayer is pretty much useless.
I'm giving this game a 3/5 because it's not worth 600+mb of room on my iPhone. Until gameloft fixes the issues that plague this game, I will not be downloading it again. And please do yourself a favor and skip this one, your wallet will thank you later, trust me.
Message to Gameloft: Please fix the glitch that when you aim down sights and shoot while standing on stairs you slide down them as if it were a water slide.
Are you kidding me?!
I've always loved gameloft games, they always have great story lines and game play and the graphics are always excellent. With silent ops however, the story line was so confusing, I didn't have any idea what was going on until about the last level, and even then I wasn't too clear. The game play was sort of awkward too. It took a while till I was able to get used to the way you aim the gun and walk around while it was aimed. The graphics were excellent though and it was gameloft's best graphics I've seen yet. Overall, I was really disappointed when I first played it because I was really excited to get it when I saw the trailer. I thought it would be the best game from game loft I've ever played... Sadly I was mistaken. One last thing, it went really really fast. It took less than a week for me to finish it. It was defiantly not worth the price for the length of the game, and the overall story and gameplay. This was obviously one of gameloft's best games visually, but it was one of their worst In just about everything else.
