Thorough and yet ironically deficient.
Despite the name, this app is not just about abs. It has a great deal of potential, but a quirky interface.
It has 8 composed workout routines, with a large library of exercises (with photos and dos & don'ts, and diagrams of muscles worked), and a log function for each exercise.
The log function is where the app falls down. First, getting to the log function is not obvious, and second, each exercise is logged independently, with no option for seeing an overview of your workouts. It would also be helpful if you could include an intensity rating for each exercise in the log.
I would also like to be able to compose my own workout routines, beyond the mere marking of Favorites (marked by a large letter F, rather than the star or heart common to many other programs).
This app is good for getting ideas for your workout, but you will probably want to use something else to log your progress.
Great Exercise App
The name of this app is misleading. It's much more than about getting a six pack. It's a great overall exercise app with information about all kinds of exercises and machines. It contains better information than I've been able to find with web searches for specific exercises, and this is all in one place. I'm a believer. I suggest the developers add information about kettle balls and foam rollers. Everything else is already here.
Good form guide, but don't buy as a workout log.
The app does have nice photos and good information, decent navigation, but I now have to purchase something else because the "log" feature is extremely clunky.
I purchased this app hoping to track muscle groups targeted, exercises done with sets and weight each day.
This app requires the user to go into the individual exercise to see the log for that specific exercise.... How about a summary showing the full workout done each day, so I can quickly decide what to target the following day?
There's also apparently no way to log minutes/intensity of cardio or load previous workouts I've been tracking on paper up to this point.
Writers should fix the "log" feature or stop advertising it as such.
