The Secret to Waking Up Early
I think I have found the perfect combination of alarm clocks. I always set Sleep Cycle to be my first alarm, and another app called SpinMe Alarm Clock as my backup. Sleep Cycle usually wakes me up in my optimal wake up time, but sometimes it just isn’t enough for me and I’ll snooze through it. If Sleep Cycle fails to wake me up, my backup alarm SpinMe will start blaring which can only be turned off if I get out of bed, stand up, and spin around twice before it finally shuts off! Crazy but it works and I haven’t been late to work since I started doing this.
Sleep Cycle really does help in waking you up during your light sleep. I can feel it working most morning. And I have studied the science behind sleep so I can attest that the premise of this app isn’t merely a placebo, but something that has actually been proven. However the problem that this alarm doesn’t solve is that sometimes (especially on nights where you get very little sleep), it can be really easy to ignore your alarm clock and really hard to wake up. That’s where SpinMe Alarm comes in, an alarm that is impossible to ignore and forces you awake.
I highly recommend using these 2 alarms together. Best few dollars I’ve ever spent.
It's really very amazing!
This app does exactly what it says it'll do. Wakes you up in your lightest state of sleep to ease you into your day as opposed to an abrupt alarm startling you out of sleep. For those who don't know, the average person lightest sleep state is also the time where dreams occur. It's also known as REM sleep. Because of this, my mornings have proven to result in some very strange dreams where reality is mixed into my dreams and vice versa. I can't tell you how many times I talk to my boyfriend next to me in bed about Oreos vacuuming the house when I think I am talking to someone in my dream about that very thing, because I could hear our roommate vacuuming. Or if my boyfriend asks me a question while I'm half awake from my alarm going off, I'm staring at a giant bowl of talking spaghetti in my dream asking me the same question. Either way, the way this app moniters everything, keeps track and uses it as a predictive guide and even shows you all the details of your sleep habits is worth every effort to get this app. I really love it and don't think I can start my day without it anymore. I even set it on days when I don't have to be up in the morning.
I love this app.
I love this app. I really do. I can't speak highly enough of it. I love sleeping, especially when I'm supposed to be waking up, so this app helps me wake up on much better terms than I previously did. I can get by on very little sleep (although I like sleeping, I'm a procrastinator and those two things don't always mix well), but I am almost always groggy for at least half of my day. But ever since I got this app, I have woken up feeling much more refreshed and awake than ever before (small drawback: the wonderful technology, awesome alarm sounds, and new refreshed feeling does not actually help you physically get out of bed). Even with only three hours of sleep (Note: I DONT RECOMMEND THIS), I wake up feeling more awake than I used to when I got 7 hours of sleep. I really love psychology and have read a lot of different sleep studies, so I know the science behind this works (although I have no idea how they sense the stage of sleep, that is beyond my psychological prowess-so go ask the nerds), but I have also experienced it firsthand and can attest to how much it works. I highly recommend this app.
