Keeping carriers honest with throttling

I live in Michigan and use Xfinity. I purchased the highest speed that a resident (non-business owner) could have. Using the app I determined that I was reaching download speeds via wi-fi over 105mb's a second. After several months I found that my speeds were declining the rising. After a certain point they began to hold ash much lower speeds. Xfinity technicians asked me to use their app to test speeds. Sure enough theirs showed my original speeds. Using this app I was able too show my original burst of high speed then the slow down. Regardless after some bickering my high speeds returned and apparently it was magic. Thank you to the app creators for giving me a tool to prove how I was being throttled.

Thank you speed test!!

We weren't feeling like our internet connection service was giving us what we were paying for, I tested using this app and it proved we weren't. We told our service about it and told them what speed the app told us and they are giving us money back refund and fixed our issue. Of course to see if they actually fixed it we tested our connection again using this app and they brought our speed back up. I wish I would've known about this app 4 months ago when we noticed our wifi slowing down. Thank you speed test. BEST APP EVER

Excellent app and it's FREE

I know ISP's get away with ripping off the consumer with bandwidth because they use the keywords "up to". I've found that Comcast often gives you less than half of your billed bandwidth and Time Warner is often doing the same thing. I just wish when we paid our ISP bills we could tell them, "I will pay you up to the amount you billed me for" but then just pay half. Thanks to this app I can use it to barter with ISP's for better deals because I have a record of my actual speed.
