Sub-meter, sub-foot, sub-yard, 5-digit accuracy kilometers and miles are now available as short distance units in the app settings. Smaller units are now only used for short distances while higher precision kilometers and miles are also used for long distances. Send us your thoughts if you have an external sub-meter GPS and want this feature improved further.

More accurate than expected
I was shopping for a handheld compass for my sailboat, and ran across a thread on one of sailing forums that mentioned this app. I was a bit skeptical of an app's accuracy, but the app looked cool enough to try. First thing I did was to check the compass against the compass in my Nikon binoculars. At first I was disappointed, because the reading was about 20 degrees off, but after a bit of fiddling, I realized the app was showing true north, rather than magnetic north. I adjusted the settings to make the app show magnetic, and then the app and my binoculars showed exactly the same setting. Amazing!
After that, I started playing around with the other features and reading the manual (a must for such a sophisticated app), and I must say that I am blown away by this little app. I'm an app developer myself, and I am truely impressed with the features and finish of this app. Bravo to the developer(s).

Great app that takes advantage of great hardware!
Compliment sandwich... So I've been using this app for a couple years, and it answered every geodetic curiosity I've ever had. I did have an issue with an update/reinstall with the new iOS. Long story short... Just go to your purchased apps under "purchased" in the update tab of the App Store and reinstall. That is the only hiccup I have had with this app ever. Customizable to the N-th degree; I have used it for so of the most obscure to the most common tasks and it never has failed me (spotting gunfire support[trial for curiosity only] to finding my way home [impaired] in a new country). I highly recommend it for all folks of all strokes.
Great tool
Calibration using land marks and sun make this a very accurate tool. One thing is you can no longer zoom close in on satellite map. Previously I was able to zoom in very close to measure and place destinations. Now it's a strain to do this. Will add a star when full sat map zoo is back. iPhone 4 ios6.
Updated to 5 star. Everything is working perfectly and seems to be more accurate. iPhone 6
