Stalker 2 - Room Escape
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
This is a free (no ads!) 3D room escape game. This is part 2 of 3, so check out part 1 if you haven’t already. The goal is to escape captivity by discovering clues, solving puzzles, and finding and using objects in the room. This is a fun, light-to-moderately challenging game for new or experienced room escape game players alike. If you get stuck, a step-by-step walk through (with hints) will push you in the correct direction.
There are multiple endings, some bad, others good. But don’t worry; the game will auto-save your every move so you can always undo a step. Make sure to download the third and final part of this room escape trilogy when you are done!
Please do not spoil the fun for others by posting puzzle solutions in the comments.
Challenging tasks, hints are helpful
I admit I was challenged by this one, and I appreciate the hints, both of which earned it three stars from me. Many of the items in the room that you can zoom in on are actually only distractions, irrelevant to the solution. That makes it a bit frustrating and time-wasting (as if playing a game in the first place isn't wasteful enough). I was a little put off by the look of it, with its crude rendering and dull coloring. It was an interesting game, but I wouldn't pay money for it, unless they made it much more attractive and added more hidden object to use to solve puzzles.
good puzzles and much more interesting than many escape games out there. I do wonder about the left over objects though - spoilers - what was in the jammed trash can? what was behind the poster? (why did the stalker leave, I thought he wanted to kill the protagonist? trapping was enough?) there are much worse things to have in a game than red herrings, though, and the absurdity of certain things (a diamond in the vending machine? really?) can be overlooked for the sake of the puzzle. 4 stars.
You can't beat free, but...
The puzzles in this game are frequently so far out of left field so as to be completely disengenuous. I found myself using the hint system and then throwing my hands up in the air exclaiming that I never would have figured out the solution in a million years. I'm not even sure the fuse puzzle is scientifically accurate.
In the end, I feel like there are a handful of decent puzzles in the game if you surrender from the beginning and use the hint guide if you can't figure out a puzzle after a few minutes. It's no use striving for because the odds are good you never will solve it on your own.
