Great but missing one thing
The app has been absolutely wonderful for me while I wait for my computer but I feel like it is just missing one thing that would make everyone who has steam want the app.
The thing I am talking about that I feel like is missing is trading I feel like if trading was added to the app it would make it easier for everyone who has steam on their computer easier to trade, mainly because when I'm in the middle of a game and I see a trade request pop up it makes me mad because I haft to stop what I'm doing for a couple of seconds to click deny on the trade request.
You might think that is not much of a difference but in games like CS:GO or TF2 a second can be the difference between killing someone or getting killed and it would be easier for people to be able to make all of the trade request go to their phone and them not see it pop right up on the screen covering a portion of the screen
I really enjoy steam, but on mobile thats another story. Its cool that you can use steam chat, but you cant chat with multiple people, use voice chat, or the steam group chat to tell people in your group things, and seriously who doesn't have a way to text already
I understand why you can use the catalog (because there's nothing else to do), bit it is pretty useful for checking sales really fast while I'm AWAY from my computer that actually plays these games. Also, you should be able to add iTunes gift cards and money from your iTunes account, because not many people use iTunes money ALL the time.
My final statement is WHY IS THERE NO COMMUNITY! what else am i supposed to do? the community is primarily what i wanted to use when i got this app people could browse the artwork laughing at screenshots and also use the community market. how many times have you been in a game and didn't want to leave to buy something (like a weapon in tf2). over all the app is meh if there are the following things added
* community market
*multiple user chat
I might keep this app and defiantly, more people will use this.
its still pretty cool to say I'm on steam and scare my friends when I'm not at my house though.
Missing Important Features
I primarily use Steam as a chat client, not a DRM system, and it is great to see the chat functionality transferred to mobile. However, I can't talk to my friends in group chats with this application. I can't even see my groups or see if everyone in the group is online. Since there is not much else to do with the app other than purchasing more games during a sale (which worked well the last time I tried it), chat is an important feature that should have more support. Voice chat would be great, too (then Steam would be an excellent companion to Skype), and it'd be awesome to be able to stream my friends' games from mobile once the bugs are kicked out of streaming, but I won't be greedy. Group chats are enough for me.
