Amazing science and exposition
This app/book version of Hawkins famous laymen book is just an amazing piece of learning. This makes much more accessible and understandable the complex and awesome topics dealt by Hawkings as he explains how our universe works. I am just in awe at how creative he is to produce one of a kind e-book like this. The pace, illustrations and connections of topics within the book are so helpful and so appropriate for the new generation used to tweets and small bites of information. You can flip over some topics when you have some time, learn some amazing fact, and come back later which no rush or worry about how fast you are progressing through the book. Hope other books on complex topics are translated to this format. And I love the updates of the latest science since the publication of the original book. We have learned so much in the last decade that I agree with Hawkins, it is an honour to live in this times.
Scrolling and animations don't even run at 60fps. Some animations are nonexistent. Still not updated for iPhone X. Not polished.
Sometimes text is left-justified, and other times fully justified. That's inconsistent. Left justification should be used everywhere because it's better for readability.
The menu is a mess with unclear hierarchy. There's a title screen with no content that you have to tap on to get to a black 4-page screen. There's 3 pages of intro and then a list of the 3 big sections. But tapping on these sections just brings you to a white screen, with the same 3 sections again, but on separate pages instead of in a list. What was the point of that? These pages should just be additional pages on the black screen, to remove an unnecessary layer of hierarchy.
When you tap on a section, the chapters within it expand to the right. But the dots at the bottom still indicate only 3 pages. If you swipe leftward, you go to the next section, but then if you swipe rightward, you go back to the previous section instead of the list of chapters you were just looking at. The app closed the list of chapters for you, breaking spatial orientation and making navigation confusing. That's a good reason why the chapters shouldn't expand to the right. Replacing the screen would be better.

I hope to use this tool, to imprint Mr. Hawkins bits of information into my main database.
This will allow me Access to him through all time, by accessing the collective consciousness which I have a unique ability to do.
