Great app, but there is more data on the site

I read these reviews and was hesitant to get the watch, but rest assured, the app isn’t that bad and the watch is GREAT. In fact it is the only watch with an accurate wrist heart rate sensor. The Garmin watches are awful. I use the spartan trainer and love it. So for this app, it actually is a very good quality app in terms of look, feel, and seamless function. If you are hesitant because of the app and it’s rating, don’t be. It works really well for its main task, which is syncing and updating the watch. For firmware you still need the cord, as for charging, but that’s it. For syncing it’s just fire up the app with your watch on and you're done. If you want advanced stats, head to the website on your device or laptop. The Movescount community is great. Heat maps are awesome, routing is sweet, and the stats are also great. And since this is a review for this app, I give it 4 stars. The watches are 5 star. Enjoy.

Opposite of user friendly.

Bought my Ambit3 as a cheap temp replacement for my fenix3 waiting to buy a fenix5.

Going from Garmin Connect to Movescount is like going from MacbookPro to Commodore64.

1. Suunto’s Movescount won’t sync to most major fitness apps.
2. Phone app is RIDICULOUSLY limited in what it is displayed when trying to review and dissect your workouts. GARMIN is head and shoulders, light years ahead of Suunto in this area.
3. Since I’ve updated the watch software I can’t fully sync to phone (“Synchronize Failed”). I can transfer work out data to app and subsequently to my account to try to analyze my workouts, but I have lost the ability to manipulate data fields on the watch which realistically has to be done via the app.

Overall the watch is wonderful. Thanks to work, I LOVE Suunto Core watches and have for years, but this app is enough to convince me to never buy a Suunto watch for fitness ever again. Going back to Garmin... sure they cost more, but much better experience with them.

Crappy app good for one thing... Syncing with web

So the DM5 software is one of the worst pieces of software I've ever had the displeasure of using!

The reason I bring that up is because the only way I could get the dives off my Eon Steel, which is an AWESOME dive computer, is via this iOS Movescount app.

However, I cannot see all the dive information for filling out my logbook...such and air pressure...or editing the UI options for the Eon Steel.

Luckily the sync between my Eon Steel and the iOS app uploaded all of the dive information online so I could access and fill out my logbook by viewing the data online.

Other than that this so app is useless. It's a real bummer Suunto puts so little effort into this software but amazing efforts into the devices and the device software.

The problem now...I can't update the UI on my Eon Steel because I can't get the DM5 software to run on any of my computers.
