SUZU Wake Me Gently Alarm Clock
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Welcome to the customizable, singing bowl alarm clock.
Finally, there is a kinder, gentler way to wake up when you are away from home, from the comfort of your iPhone.
Dial in how long you want it to take to wake up. You can choose anywhere between 5 and 60 minutes. Suzu will trigger the singing bowl at intervals carefully spaced out to wake you gently. Toward the end of your chosen wake time interval, if you have not responded to the alarm, it will chime in quick succession to insure that you wake up on time.
Because the sound of Suzu can be so soothing, we suggest that you turn your phone all the way up before you go to sleep.
Because of the nature of iPhone applications;
Be sure to leave your phone on its charger.
Do not shut your phone down, you must leave the Suzu application open.
You can turn off the screen by placing something over the proximity detector on the top left part of the phone or by simply turning the phone over.
IPOD Touch First Generation Users must have external speakers

You can tap on the bell to make it ring
I have had a "zen alarm" from Now & Zen which cost over $100. It stopped working before a year was up and the company would not return my emails or calls. This was 2 bucks and does (just) about the same thing. The sound seems fine to me. The tone is quite nice for a little electronic device! The alarm works well and if you follow the developer's advice and turn the phone over or cover the sensor (to shut off the screen) there is no problem. My wishes for the product; 1. Fix the backlight situaton. 2. Make it function on a "circadian rhythm" that gradually shortens the time between the chime/ringing of the bell. It does not do this at this time. It seems all over the place. It should ring once, 12 minutes later ring again, 6 minutes later ring again, 3 minutes later ring again and then just ring until you turn it off. It doesn't do this at this time. Sometimes it does but other times it does not. Science has shown that this is the best way to wake up. Otherwise, hey, great product and I am glad that I have it. Could be improved but worth a couple of bucks. Pay $100 to $200 from a company that doesn't stand behind it's product or buy this for $2. It's not bad at all.
I really love this app. That being said, it needs a few changes. First I wish it would wake the iPod because my screen is starting to get a bit of lag from being on all the time. Second I wish the chime would start soft and get progressively louder. Third it needs more than one sound selection, not everyone is going to be thrilled with the same singing bowl. This is app is 95 percent awesome, hopefully with an update or two it will be nearly perfect.
The need for continuous charging is a dealbreaker
I bought this even after I read the disclaimer about the need to keep my iPod charging all night, since I read some nice reviews of it elsewhere. This is a nice app, and a welcome change from the sound of an alarm clock. However, in its current form it's difficult to travel with, and is mostly useful as maybe a meditation timer. Hope the developer fixes the issue so I can get more use out of it.
