Great messaging client! Now can we get the compact mode back the way it was?
I love Telegram and it’s the primary way my family communicates. The stickers are great, the messaging works, private chats are nice for more sensitive data (I’ll occasionally get a bank statement or something at my parents’ house, so they’ll send me pictures in a private chat) and the interface is good. I run it pretty much exclusively in Compact mode, with the list of chats on the side shrunk down so it just shows the icons. The last update removed this, but this one re-added it. But it doesn’t stick! If I quit and relaunch the app, it opens up as a list of chats and I have to expand the window so it shows the list and the chat, then drag the separator down so it just shows the icons, then shrink the window again. Not a big deal, but shouldn’t be necessary. Fix that and I’ll be back to having no complaints!
Still no fix for Korean input, but…!
This is the third post about broken Korean input. I guess if Telegram doesn’t care much about Korean input inconvenience, I should consider moving back to KakaoTalk…
UPDATE on 7/27: Mikhail from Telegram reached out to me and worked together diligently to resolve my issue. He made a fix to the app and gave me a chance to test it out through Beta version, and it worked fine. I was going to hold off on updating the review until the fix comes out to production, but well, his help was so awesome, I am changing the review now~!
