At the forefront
Amazingly detailed graphics coming out of this unreal engine. Reflections in the water and detail on how the rain streams down batman's suit are incredible. Pushing the limits of the iPad retina display. Looking at the quality of other iOS games, this is certainly worthy of a 4 or 5 star rating. Looking critically, I agree to some issues around the finer points. Gameplay is simplistic regarding moves, and a more extensive swipe tap motion would greatly help with the immersion. Weapon and vehicle upgrades are too far apart, with there being steep costs in a game that I don't feel is all that replayable. Speaking of replay ability, a lot of it just takes awhile to get through. Granted fist fighting and stealth maneuvers take time, but it is on the verge of taking too long to play. Lots of repeating and predictable missions, make me forget I had the chance, however briefly, to maneuver an incredibly slow bike and helicopter. The bat copter was a bit easier on the controls, but the bike was painful. Either would be greatly helped with tilt steering and more base speed.
Overall, felt like I was in a storyline, in an immersive environment that I really enjoyed sneaking around. Not mind blowing fantastic, but still pretty amazing when you consider the device it is being played on.
The Dark Knight Rises
This game is so awesome. It is so worth 6.99. It is very similar to your The Amazing Spiderman game as well. I do have a few complaints though. 1) We barley see Bane in this game he shows up and you fight him for a minute then your in the pit and he talks to you, then you don't see him until the final battle. 2) we never see the giant bomb like in the movie. 3) Final battle with Bane is to easy even on normal. 4) why is it raining for the entire game. 5) we never find out in the game that Miranda is a villain and we never see Banes goons in trucks and Tumbles driving around in a snowy city. 6) Cat woman isn't in the final battle with you and it would be cool if we saw her on the Batpod chasing and battling banes goons and finally 7) The city is way too small with only 4 or 5 really big buildings that make it look like a city, needs to be as big as New York from The Amazing Spiderman game. I would fix these because the first half of the game it is pretty accurate bur then it kinda looses the accuracy of the movie. All in all I love this game just some things were missing in the second half of the game. Buy this now to anyone who doesn't own it money well spent
A BlockBuster Or A LackLuster?
I really want to like this game, but it falls short in greatness. First of all, the graphics are great, but they are not as stunning when compared to other Gameloft games like N.O.V.A. 3. The combat is kind of fun, but it stops being fun later into the game because it is just too repetitive and it shows up constantly. The free roaming concept is awesome, but again it becomes a chore using the grapnel gun and gliding from place to place every single time. Talking about the combat again, I found something that doesn't make any sense. The thing that was on my mind was this. The enemies can take about 5 to 10 hits and batman can only take 3 to 4. I found this too be very weird. In Arkham City, batman can get repeatedly crushed by Clayface's body and in Arkham Asylum, he gets thrown to an electrified wall by the mutated joker, but is still able to get back up easily in both situations. However, being punched or hit with a crowbar a few times by weak NPCs( or grunts) will knock him out in this game. It was a fun ride finishing this game, but since it has a lot of bugs and glitches as well as low replay value, I feel like there's no reason to actually replay this game. The movie was a blockbuster, but this game lacked luster.
