This American Life & OK Go Handbells
By Public Radio Exchange (PRX)
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Use this app to play along with OK Go during the performance in "This American Life: The Invisible Made Visible." The show was sent live to movie theaters on May 10th, 2012 - but you can also play along with the forthcoming DVD, download and TV versions of the show!
Ooo! You CAN change the colors.
The app consists of 3 buttons that play bell-like tones. Different color button sets play different tones.
Until I saw David Henderson's May 7th review, below, I didn't realize that the colors and tones could be changed. Not without closing the app and killing it from running in the background, at least.
If you're having trouble changing the colors, keep trying. It took me a number of attempts before I got it to work. With the phone in landscape mode, touch firmly on the words OK Go at the bottom center of the screen and swipe briskly to the left or right. Sometimes there is a brief delay before the colors & tones change. Swiping all the way across the edge of the screen does not seem to work.
The 10 May 2012 Live Event
This was an excellent idea and was quite fun. Since I have a lot of friends that were music major, I'll probably be one of the few that use it again. Although, the live broadcast will be available at some point, so you could conceivably use this app again.
Ringer Virginity: Deflowered!
Thanks to this app, this is the first time I've turned my ringer on since owning this phone. Great job emulating a real instrument—the overtones are amazing! But it is hard to reliably change colors. Hopefully all we be made clear on May 10th!
