Love this app for it's simplicity!
If you are looking for a fancy graphics intensive app move on. If you want general tide & current info, I highly recommend this app! I've had this app since shortly after it's release. This is the first time I've written a review for it. I was looking at the many reviews and thinking, what app are most of these people taking about? I have never had a problem with this app. It's not at all complicated , very concise and as I've seen accurate. Even when I transitioned to the iP4 it's been flawless. I had a friend that was having trouble finding tides and currents for a place on Vancouver Island, in a matter of minutes I entered the coordinates and found what he was looking for. I even e-mail a link to the online tables it led me to.
I got it working again!!!!!!!!!
I was getting as frustrated as most of the other folks that are panning this app until - as the app was opening for that brief period of a second or two before it crashed I touched the search button on the bottom right of the screen. This screen actually remained open. I next went to Auto (next to the magnifying glass) - didn't do much else except to switch on "enter my own search point", hit "done".
Later I switched off "enter my own search point" - and everything is back to the way it used to be with this being a good app once again.
It may seem like a hassle but I figured as I already paid for it...... Well it works for me now - Good Luck
Not very complete for Alaska
This app has great potential, but for the state of Alaska the app is very lacking. One has to look at the website to see where the information is originating and if your area is in good shape the by all means go for it. However, in my area of Alaska where some of the tides are enormous and we have lots of rivers that have tides, the app is very poor. The area where you put in the location is fun to use and very easy. The location I put in did nothing for my home town which has a river with a tide, but again it searched and found nothing. The database is not complete. If the database used was more complete and my home town was in it the rating may have been larger. Having an easy way to save multiple sites would be a nice feature.
