Hector’s in Mazatlan
This Was not a fine dining experience as we expected. I would’ve felt more welcome at Burger King and been better taken care of. Our whole experience from ordering to checking out was less than 45 minutes. The waiter took our drink order and we only got one Cube of ice after requesting a full glass. After he brought Iceless tea, I ordered a glass of red wine and never received it. The prawn spaghetti was good as was the risotto. I had the lasagna and Stouffers makes better. We were served our food & received no further attention from any of the waiters despite asking for ice and salt and pepper. We asked several times for the check and when we finally received it, we paid part in pesos and put part on the credit card. We told him to put 605 pesos on the card and he came back and had charged us 620. We will never go back here again. There were people at every table when we arrived but by the time we left 45 minutes later the place was relatively empty. People did not seem to be enjoying their dining experience either.
Foxworthy Wedding Party - Best Man’s Perspective
We had a large group in from across the US—mainly KC, Denver and Dallas—for my best friend’s wedding. The entire experience was first rate. The staff was particularly attentive and the property was immaculately maintained. The food was good for an all inclusive—my favorite was the taco bar at Pelicano’s. The chef there during the lunch rush was always on point and had a great attitude. The lobby bars were a blast in he eve and the nightly entertainment was far better than I expected. Belem Jimenez was a great hostess throughout the evenings all the way until middle night. Also appreciated the spa services of Miriam Ramirez who got us ready for the big wedding day. My man Freddy Lopez was always there when we needed something handled. Good hombre. We all made many terrific memories during Dirk and Jeanice’s wedding—which some aptly referred to as our adult spring break. Would definitely return someday.
9 out of 10 bad experiences are rejected while 100% of positive experiences are approved. This is why almost every hotel has a 5 star rating on trip advisor. So regardless of if you're checking up on Category 5 Ritz or a bed bug infested motel in middle of nowhere town, you'll only see happy people checking in with 4 or 5 stars. This results in artificially high ratings for bad hotels. This also punishes good hotels by drowning their good ratings in sea of biased ratings! Talk about abusing customer trust! Maybe there is a conflict of interest with them trying to sell hotel rooms while they moderate reviews for the very same hotels. I took my $30k annual vacation budget and made sure trip advisor and it's affiliate such as Expedia doesn't get a penny! Glad to see their stock sinking like a rock lately. They need to go back to their root and regain customer trust... Update: Nov 2nd, 2017 - TripAdvisor was caught deleting reviews by tourists that were assaulted and raped at hotels recommended by TripAdvisor. Nov 8th, 2017 - TripAdvisor is still censoring family friendly reviews on their site, Facebook, and elsewhere.
