Favorite thing on my phone
I've been playing TrueSkate for years, not just playing but playing addictively haha! When I used to skateboard back in Jr High and Highschool I used to play with the mini finger skateboards all day in school. Cell phones back then are not even on any level like the handheld computers we have today in the smartphones. It reminds me of the mini skateboards, but only in the sense you use your fingers in both to skateboard. This game is, in my opinion, so awesome because it's simplicity. The physics of the skateboard respond exactly the same way a real skateboard does in real life. I like this better than any tony hawk game or console skateboard games. It's basically like, here's the skateboard, do with it whatever you will. Lol. So there's really no "correct" way to do anything. Just like in real life, the skateboard is just the tool, the one who's using it is only limited by what they haven't learned, practiced, and mastered yet.
An example of way too much pay-to-play
I like this game, or at least I really want to. On an iPad Mini 2, it looks, runs, and feels great to control. However, I realize that the $1.99 price comes with only one skateboard, and more importantly- one skate park. To get more parks you must fork over another $5.99. You can't even customize your skateboard without having to spend dozens of hours earning the freemium-style points, or you know, just give them even MORE money.
See, if the initial base game was free, all these pay-to-play elements might be more easy to forgive. But the game isn't even $.99. And yet for the price of two cheeseburgers from McDonalds, I feel jipped. I feel like I've been played and cheated. Excellent game, obviously a lot of work and focus went into making it, but I'd rather they have put it up for $6.99 or $7.99 with all the features included, instead of trying to nickel-and-dime their player base.
I hope this review helps someone.
I have been playing this game since you first released it. That being said I'm sure it's obvious that I love it. I recently purchased the Tampa map and the super crown map. Both made me restore my purchases. After restoring the purchases i lost a ton of true credits. I had about 700k which after restoring purchases reset to 50k. I never bought any true credits so it took me a very long time to get to that amount. Also now when I get a great line I no longer am receiving true credits. Is this a really bad bug or has something been ruined for me? Once again I love this game dearly but with everything costing true credits I would like to have mine back please. Thank you
