They listened! Keep going...
Thankfully Tunein has done the right thing and dumped the implementation of ads into the "Pro" version. We'll, the true "right thing" would have been never to have added them in the first place, but it's good they figured it out fairly quickly.
Now, if we can just get them to create a method of getting our recordings OFF the device so we can hear them later... That would make this the perfect mobile radio recording application. When asked directly about this they say there is something like a "licensing" issue with this, hard to believe. People have offered recording of streaming radio on computers, and before that we used to use cassettes and before that reel-to-reel... Vintage radio would be lost to the ages without people recording and archiving. But in 2014, when the technology is stable and simple, what's the real problem with offering a way to archive a stream so I don't lose ALL my recordings when I rebuild my phone's image and/or want to listen to the archive on another device? Over the years the data for this application can build up to Gigabytes on your phone, it either stays there forever or it is lost forever.....
Pretty good app; restore some features, PLEASE!
I've had this app for a few years now. It works pretty well, most of the time.
There is a feature they list several rev levels ago though and still haven't restored it. When you have multiple recordings and you listen to bits and pieces, the app doesn't "remember" where you stopped each if the recordings. So, when you go back to an older recording, it starts at the beginning, instead of where you left off...very aggravating.
It's probably a copyright thing but several of the stations I used to be able to tune to now are unavailable.
You used to not have to have the app opened and the screen saver turned off for a recording to start. Now you must have both true or your timer will not execute.
There is still a bug that crashes the app when you skip multiple times (like skipping over commercials). It doesn't always do it, but will do it at the least convenient time.
The skip buttons used to be bigger. The smaller buttons are troublesome while driving.
I'd like to see a feature added that would allow multiple timers, on different stations, (at different, non-overlapping times of course) to be allowed to be programmed.
Thanks for reading.
Poor customer support
Long time ago.. I bought Tune-In originally for my iPod 2nd generation. Since then I also use it on my iPhone 5.
There were multiple versions after that. The newer version cannot be installed on my iPod 2nd generation, which I can understand.
That was not a problem until my 2 year-old son accidentally deleted the Tune-In app AND the computer where it was backed up was defective. At that point I reached out to Tune-In full of hope that I will find help from them. To my great disappointment I received a flat generic answer from someone who should not be working in a customer service department: no attempt to provide any element of solution.
How good is an app if there no good customer support ?
To me, a strong company would find a way to hep me retrieve that app that I have already bought - EVEN IF I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT AGAIN.
I am hoping that a more intelligent person from that company will see this review and will try to find some element of solution. If that happens, I will gladly give this app a better rating.
