Update looks awesome; small image thumbnails are back!

I’ve been a happy user of the Tweetbot 1.x series, and the 2.x series is a nice visual improvement — Tweetbot finally feels “grown up”, and right at home on a Yosemite system. In general, I’ve found it to be stable, featureful and easy to use, and the 2.x series continues that trend.

As a Tweetbot user, I don’t need to worry about filtering through Promoted Tweets, nor do I need to try to figure out which tweets happened when; Tweetbot actually presents tweets in a strict time-based order, regardless of @-replies or which tweets are “popular”. I really appreciate this simplicity; it’s exactly what i expect from a Twitter client.

Previously, I had complained that the 2.0 series removed small image thumbnails, but in the 2.0.2 update, this feature has been restored. Many thanks to the developers for listening to feedback and restoring this feature!

A high quality, cross platform Twitter app

I have never regretted paying for this app. It has a fun sense of design that doesn’t feel like it was dashed off. Everything works well, there are options for what extra services to connect to, you can use multiple windows and swipe forwards or backwards into a long string of Twitter references, and it works very well with the iPhone application. It’s really nice how either app knows when I’ve scrolled up in the other, and automatically moves to match it. This couldn’t be more intuitive and fluid.

It works the way Twitter “should” work without extra advertisements, sponsored tweets, dotted lines, or “tweets you missed while you were away” in the middle of my stream. Maybe one day they’ll have to put these in, but for now it’s so nice and simple.

Problems fixed—this is the best Twitter client again

I wrote a mean review when version 2.0 came out, because they removed the small image previews, introduced some crashing bugs, and added nothing except a new skin.

Now they’ve restored small image previews and fixed the bugs—so the app is just as good as version 1, with a more contemporary look.

It’s the best Twitter client for Mac. I had no idea how much I relied on small image previews until they took them away!
