Requesting your Uber is easy—here’s how it works:
- Just open the app and tell us where you’re going.
- The app uses your location so your driver knows where to pick you up.
- You’ll see your driver’s picture, vehicle details, and can track their arrival on the map.
- Payment can be made by credit card, cash in select cities, Apple Pay, PayPal, and more.
- After the ride, you can rate your driver and provide feedback to help us improve the Uber experience. You’ll also get a receipt by email.

I've been using Uber for the past 2 years and I've noticed it's been getting worse and worse. Recently I moved to LA and it's just ridiculous out here, drivers driving completely past you, getting canceled constantly, and just the overall attitude of some of the drivers(a lot of pervs too). Yet even with all that I wouldn't rate it 1 star until what happened recently. A driver decided to NOT pick me up, and start the trip without me.
Of course I give the guy a call ... doesn't answer, so I call again... no answer. Third time I call he picks up(at this point he is already at my destination without me), he goes on to say the app was being "weird" and wasn't working... so instead of trying to contact me he ignored my calls and finished a trip without me in it.
Any sane person would want a refund right? Wrong. According to Uber's customer service I "completed" the trip and can't be refunded. It's obvious at this point he did all of this on purpose so I couldn't get a refund and he gets free money. Extremely frustrating, horrible customer service! This is the first time I've ever tried to refund a trip, so I'm not abusing it by any means. I deleted the app and won't be supporting them any more, think twice about using Uber!
Great service, Sick of fake reviews
These fake reviews are ridiculous. Uber's policy doesn't allow tipping, never did. I have a 4.82 rating with no tipping. I don't use Lyft because they allow tipping (which is inconvenient), and spam you with marketing notifications. Location tracking "even when you're not using the app" is to help insure you're picked up and dropped off properly, which is clearly explained when you turn it on (to extend the tracking a few minutes beyond your pick up or drop off, it needs this permission from iOS).
I hate the lack of release notes, so I'd rate it one star for that except that I feel the need to counteract the other reviews, and I do use and like the service. So, Uber, include release notes so your app's ratings can go up, because people that actually use your app and leave reviews also read the release notes. No release notes means we won't leave a review so you'll just get the crap reviews you've been getting.
I use uber at least 4 times out of the week going and coming trips. If it's not that I am getting double charged it's that I am getting triple charged. They gave me a $5 credit for a bad experience with a drive and two days after it was gone and they charged me full fair to then tell me in a week they will credit my banks account back the $5! Ridiculous! Most of the drivers I have had are either rude, drive reckless or they pick me up two blocks from my home and I have to walk to the car. Some Uber drivers have no sense of direction even with gps. I waited one time about an hour for a pick up because he couldn't find me. Another experience my driver spoke no English and didn't know where he was going. I can honestly say I been using uber for 4 months And I rather take a regular taxi. I am thinking of switching to lyft but reading there reviews I don't know who is worst. Oh let me not forget how one uber driver called me one time couldn't find me hung up canceled the trip I was charged then another uber showed up. Unprofessional rude this was not the first time I would say this had to be the 3rd time! Uber just lets anyone work for them!
