Horrible Update, did not listen to beta testers - DON'T UPGRADE IT!
Where to start.... This update is horrible. It often crashes during startup and during matching. It will not recognize music with any degree of reliability; often reading songs as the previous ones, forcing you to hit more buttons, more buttons, more buttons, until it finally works properly. Viggle pretty well ignored the beta team input, with one exception - the color scheme. They knew when they released this upgrade that the music matching did not work properly. TV show matching takes 3-10x longer than before. Overall, the app is much slower than V1.7.3 and is a chore to use. Viggling is no longer fun.
Additionally, don't be fooled by the claim of "millions of rewards" because they are simply hawking downloadable music/movies/TV Shows through the use of the points. I originally joined Viggle for gift Cards - which they used to have available 24/7 - oh they still have them, 3 or 4 per night, and it is like Black Friday in WalMart trying to get one. In January, Viggle announced a partnership with RewardsPay to let us use our points for gift cards - and nothing ever since - and they will not respond to emails about it.
This update is a huge disappointment, and many users upgraded BACK to V1.7.3, and with good reason - it works. If you have already upgraaded, and have symnched to your computer, your options are limited. If you have not upgraded - DON'T DO IT!
Update was a step back
The new version can barely check into a song but then thinks the next 3 different songs are still that same first song and won't give you points. It seems like less shows are being offered for high value points unless you have DirectTV or HBO. We regular folks need show points too!
I have been waiting at least 1.5 months for the rewards to be refreshed and updated. I've been saving points for one particular reward for over 5 months and the reward has been sold out for almost 2 months.
Overall, the concept is great but the update is horrible. There is this thing called "user acceptance testing" that should have been utilized and wasn't or they wouldn't have so many problems and complaints. Surely any company that makes an app has the brain power to recognize they need to test changes before putting them into production.
This a revision to my original review. Just turned in my points for a smart tv for my mother on Mother's Day. It arrived three days ago. Said I wouldn't viggle anymore but can't stop. Now just yesterday the whole system changed and not as good as before. Not able to get much in the way of ads and I have still have not figured out how to purchase songs from iTunes through viggle for the thousand points. Still love it though.
