If you know what this is for, it rules!
I had to write a review for this after seeing all the negative feedback due to people not understanding what this does. Maybe the developer should explain it better in the info section. The only thing this app does is take away the focus across the top and bottom of your photo. If you place the subject within these parameters they are the only thing in focus. In most cases this makes the subject look miniature in size. It is a subtle effect, and isn't right for every photo, but if you use it right, it makes for some really cool photos. It does not change the color or the contrast or the lighting or anything else. If your are looking for those things, try Camerabag, Toycamera, or the other VInt apps. As for updates, I hope that in the future, you can choose how much is in focus and how much is out. And hopefully something else cool I haven't thought of.
Makes distant objects look like toys!
Unlike color filter effects which are very obvious once applied, Vint Shift is a subtle tilt-shift effect. You have to try capturing pictures several times to get the hang of this app. I also find that it works best when applied to distant objects (such as stationary cars in a parking lot). Nearer objects such as profile shots takes a lot of getting used to. I believe the developer wants to keep his "Vint" apps simple, but i feel Vint Shift should offer users some customized settings. E.g. depth of tilt... That will surely bump my review up to 4 stars. Still it's a fun app that hasn't crashed so far. Worth 0.99.
People are obviously using this wrong who are giving it one star. I have a 3gs so I use this app and get really close to my subject and tap the screen to focus sharply then take the picture. Then the app produces an awesome effect, by making the areas around the center of the photo blurry.
