Best photo editing app, but UI/UX needs work
I have been using VSCO since the original app was released in 2012 (VSCO CAM). The redesigned app (VSCOcam), released in 2014, was amazing. It introduced an in-app store with preset packs in addition to a brand new UI/UX that functioned flawlessly. It was simple and intuitive. I have purchased every preset pack, made a Grid as soon as they were available, and am currently a VSCO X member. VSCO has always been unrivaled with the quality of their presets. However, over the years they have taken many steps forwards and backwards with their UI/UX.
The latest update includes an improvement to managing presets. While this is a huge improvement over the "tap and hold until they wiggle, then drag and drop" method, the new method still could use some improvements. That is why I am giving 4/5 stars.
Suggestions:
1. When you favorite a preset, it should show up at the front of the preset list, but it should also remain in the preset collection that it belongs to. Maybe you could take it a step farther and show a star in the corner of the preset icon to note it is a favorite when you are scrolling through all the presets.
2. You should be able to hide individual presets, rather than hiding an entire collection. For example: I want to hide H1-H4, and H6, but not H5, but I also don't want to make H5 a favorite. This is not currently possible in the current version of the app.
Keeps crashing
This is by far my favorite way to edit photos which is probably why it gets such a high rating, but within the last three updates or so it seems to keep crashing my phone (iPhone 6plus) sometimes right when I open it and try to click something and sometimes when I finish editing one photo and try to move on to the next. It is like working with a time bomb, but at least I can still use it kind of. I just which it did not do this..
Crashes when sharing
I've used the app for a couple years and only recently have I started to want to share directly from the app in order to minimize the memory space I use up. However, every time I've gone to upload from vsco the app crashes. I haven't been able to share to fb, goggle drive, or tumblr.
