Works Great, Good Strava Integration


Been using the app pretty heavily for a couple months now. At first I was just using it with a Polar H7 heart rate monitor and worked well with that. Now I’m also using it with a Topeak speed and cadence sensor and it works flawlessly with that as well — unlike Strava which apparently can’t work with cadence sensors, but oddly Strava ingests the cadence data just fine when Wahoo exports it to Strava. I wish the export to Strava were automatic, but it’s just 2 taps, so no big deal.

GPS is glitchy — it’ll show you on a highway instead of the bike path next to the highway — but that’s mostly an Apple problem. I could buy a Bad Elf and connect it to my iPhone if I wanted better GPS.

And it calculates calories based off heart rate rather than stuff like elevation change. Neither calculation is perfect and I like the fact that Wahoo’s logic and number is different from Strava’s. And I like that Wahoo puts total calories for the month front and center.

I just wish the the totals were a rolling 28 days so the numbers didn’t bounce around so much. But that’s a small detail.

All and all — thumbs up!

The “update to fix bugs” did not fix anything


You guys had me update the app three days ago to the 5.10 version. I thought okay that’s fine, update. Now my wahoo heart rate monitor won’t sync with the app. It shows it syncing and loading percentage, but once it hits 100% it starts back at zero and does that over and over again for about 45 seconds. So I deleted the app and redone loaded it thinking maybe that’ll fix it. NOPE! Now it doesn’t even load past 1% or even let me download the device free workouts from the past three days! What the hell!?!?!?
Such a waste of money!!! And of course I’ve had my heart rate monitor longer than it would allow me to return for a full refund. If you are going to update to “fix” bugs and problems, try not to create a problem instead!

Will not sync after recent update


I'm having the exact same problem as some others have complained about since the update: it attempts to sync and keeps syncing over and over again without actually it syncing. I called Wahoo last week and they're aware of the problem and working on it. Supposedly, they were going to push an update over the weekend or sometime this week. As of 1/27 still not functioning properly. Not syncing is a MAJOR issue with me and, if it doesn't get resolved, I'll buy a different HR monitor--I rely extensively on the built-in memory and ability to work untethered to my iPhone. I've been using Tickr X and the app (convert from long time Polar user) for almost three years with, in general, good results.
