Thoroughly impressive in every way.

Like another reviewer has said, this app demonstrates just how powerful iOS devices can be. Running this on other computers (not the website options) was far slower, and had the computer working VERY hard, fabs running at full speed. It makes me wonder what trick iOS hardware has that enables it to do the same thing as NVIDIA’s CUDA GPU’s. Anyway, I use this all the time for artwork, photos, but most of all, screenshots from games. Not really what it was designed for, but it really makes a difference! Big thanks to the developer for making what is FAR from simple on a computer, very easy and quick on my iPhone.

Model Loading Time Problems

I have been using Waifu2x in IOS for years now with its latest updates and the various improved scaler models but never I had any issues before of literally waiting for them to even start processing the image file regardless of what resolution it is up until just recently. Whenever I refresh the app or turn on my moderately powerful hardware iPhone, it always loads the chosen models first every single time. The main issue is that it takes over a minute just to finish loading a model. I have been using practically the same exact settings before and after I upgraded to a new phone yet it doesn’t make a dent in the annoying long loading times.

It’s not something that brakes the app for its main purpose on what is trying to do but hopefully, this will get patched soon and it’ll make it easier for us to not wait this long to change even over a single image/video than it should. Around five-second load times when choosing a model at least would be very much tolerable regardless that the software app didn’t have any loading times before I made this review.

It’s a technical limitation. The newer models are too large. If you are using an old device it will take a long time for iOS to load them. On an iOS device released recently it should take less than 5 seconds. Nothing can be done in the app as the model loading is handled by iOS.

Needs Work

This MacOS app does the basic functions as expected however there is no information on how to upgrade or how get the full version despite the app clearly stating that upgrade as possible and that it will remove the "trial "labeling to provide full feature set.
***In the developer response, they state there is no full version yet in their very own app it's littered with gold lettered "trial" badges on different options and there's literally a paragraph description claiming that you have to upgrade to get the full version. So clearly this developer doesn't even know what's in his own app!! In addition reviewing an app it's not complaining. It's called a reviewing. Perhaps being less offended and more knowledgeable about your own app would benefit you greatly and provide a better product for users.

There is no such thing as “full version” in this app. Therefore no “upgrade” here. Are you looking for another app that has nothing to do with this one?

Update: Well I know there is another very similar app which DOES have a “full version”. This app only have an unlockable item. I thought you mean that app instead of this one. If you would bother sending a feedback email instead of complaining on the App Store I’d even be happy to send you a video tutorial.
