Keeps me walking!
A good pedometer is very helpful to let you know how much movement you get in a day. A FUN pedometer does not just monitor but also motivates. Striiv is a very FUN pedometer! The MyLand game where you earn coins and energy to customize your own little island is a fun component of Striiv. But the new feature that teams you up with walking buddies has motivated me to more than double my steps in the past week or so. I walk relays with my new walking buddies. I join walkathons. I walk ALL the time, thanks to Striiv. Thanks to the Striiv team and all my new walking friends!
Yes, there are some occasional glitches in the update, but I feel confident that the Striiv team will work to fix them. They are soliciting feedback to identify any issues. Given the overall quality of the app, it seems certain that they will keep working to improve it.
I am done (with this company)
You would think a company with TWO different apps for the same thing would at least be able to sync properly, especially since they tell you you can have both, but no. Instead as soon as you even try to log into another instance you see just how off they are.
Really that should have been THE FIRST issue they worked out, whether it had been just leaving it at one app or adding in a manual sync/save for users. As it is, using both apps is entirely out of the question, unless you like loosing progress and having to work even harder than needed.
I say this because I notice this app in question doesn't actually work in the background anymore (it did back when I had it on my iPad and that was running 5.1) Now, considering Apple has the whole "Background Apps" thing and it is in that list I'm guessing it's a design flaw that needs worked out.
Really, I only switched back to this app for challenges, but if the apps aren't even going to work together then I don't see what the point of having two is. It's just doubling the errors and problems (not to mention cutting people out)
I like it! I like it a lot!
It motivates and encourages me to take baby steps to working out. However, the app doesn't explain anything. For instance in the my land area what's the lightening? How do I get more of it? Another issue is how do I delete the provided friends? I wish it could track my bike rides as well. I rode my bike while my husband ran this evening and it said I only had 1400 approximate steps. My husbands said he took over 3400 steps. We are competing and I'm losing because I'd rather ride a bike than run. :-/ Back to the positives, I like competing and accomplishing goals, which is what this app has.
I simply want more explanations of how things work. But it gets me moving. And add a bike app and it'll be a perfect app.
