Strange bugs—same for others???
Ugh. Just ugh. There are so many issues with this app.
Whenever I click the "Weekly Ad" button Walmart continues to fail to provide its employees with a liveable wage and health benefits. Isn't that weird?
Strangely, the Savings Catcher feature DOES track the amazing discounts I receive on Walmart's already low prices, but it doesn't take into account the money I've lost to Walmart through federal subsidies, outsourced jobs, and welfare coverage for unsupported workers.
I've also noticed that the nearby "Stores" feature only lists stores with employees who are punished and intimidated if they attempt to form unions. The "Stores" feature includes a filter for stores that include photos, gas, 24 hour pharmacies, and so on. But, interestingly enough, there's no filter for unionized employees. Maybe thats because Walmart's taken care of the hassle for me—since all of its U.S. stores virtually forbid unionization, there's no need for such a filter! I'm so glad Walmart is simplifying the shopper experience like that. I would otherwise have been a little overwhelmed with excessive customization.
Besides these issues, the app is generally acceptable. I'm able to go about shopping and checking prices at will, which is perfect for my needs. Overall I'd recommend. But there's lots of room for improvement. Great start, Walmart! Hope you keep up the great work you're doing for us.
App no longer works
Originally I really liked this app especially the saving catcher. The savings catcher is a smart idea in my opinion and I was skeptical about it at first but it does find lower prices which makes it a good incentive especially these days to give them your business knowing they will do the extra work to make sure you get the lowest price on what you're buying. I also like the app gives you pricing at the stores when you're looking for something and if they have it in stock and where in the store.
About a week or so before the latest update the app stopped working. I couldn't do anything including saving catcher. I did the update and even deleted and re-downloaded it and it's still not working ☹️
Hopefully there will be a fix soon.
Never finds matches at my store
Every time I search for an item at My Store, the app returns irrelevant and non-matching items, e.g., tonight I'm searching for a dish pan. I can understand seeing various cooking pans and other types of pans. What I don't get is seeing peanut butter, sunglasses, candy, and absolutely no dish pans which I know every WalMart carries. This is just one example of how inadequate the WalMart iPhone app is when it comes to My Store searches.
Update: After continued contact with customer service, I'm disgusted with WalMart. Customer Service uses the wrong name instead of my name and refuse to accept any responsibility for their broken app. They seem to not read what I write as they respond with answers to complaints I didn't make. Or they simply tell me to reinstall or use another device. When I do reinstall, the problem is still there.
