- Bug Fixes
Generally good app, but...
Update Jan 30, 2016: the one thing missing is Search. Would like to be able to search my cloud media, maybe within a category such as Video, Music, Images, etc. Very tedious to track through folders looking for something whose name you (roughly) know, esp on iPhone.
The other :-) one thing missing is the ability to open any file as if it were text. Lots of files, README, shell scripts, etc, don't have .txt suffixes, but would make sense to open as text. TextEdit on the Mac does this, very handy.
Update April 26, 2015: has proved to be extremely fast and reliable at providing access to my >6000 MP4 movies from 2 iPads and 2 iPhones running iOS 8.3.
Update Dec 20, 2014: now not crashy at all for me. Still deals perfectly with my huge collection of mp4s, and handles the occasional picture, etc that I view with it. Excellent app!
update: Dec 16, 2013
The latest revision is much better than the previous. It handles unknown files better, and crashes far less often. I call it "reliable".
It's fast and works on most of my files, but I wish there were an easy way to have it pass unknown file types to other apps rather than just scratch its head at me.
My cloud right at my fingertips
I am glad I purchased wd 2tb my cloud, I have since added 1tb for backup purposes to 2tb my cloud. I love how I can backup my photos or videos or any type of files from any of my devices. I recently just upgraded my Samsung note4 to iPhone 6s Plus. My cloud worked very good on my note 4 and it works very well for me on my first iPhone. It also works on my iPad and Mac mini and also both of my Windows computers. Nice to have the option of no matter what device I am using that my files are right at my fingertips. I can take thousands of pictures or videos and not have to worry about running out of space. My cloud app keeps my life right at my fingertips, thank you.
The reason I bought this thing was to interconnect two iPads, an I phone, two iMacs and two Windows-based computers. The largest percentage of the time I cannot find MyCloud on any of the computers. It's probably me, but my opinion is that it needs to be much more user-friendly for us old dummies. I'm not completely computer ignorant but I do find this very difficult to connect. Great idea, but haven't been able to implement it as I had hoped for. So, I have had to pay for a subscription to iCloud which I had tried to avoid to begin with. I hate online subscriptions of any type! I consider them huge rip off's.
