App ok, forecast unreliable and frustrating
The Weather Channel app's forecasts are so unreliable it's mind-boggling. Granted, I live in Florida and weather changes on a dime. However, getting my weather from the local news station is far superior than trying to keep up with the erratic changes made throughout the day on this app. It's never accurate. Temperature and rain forecasts change by the hour, which is not useful when you're trying to plan a day, let alone a full weekend. For instance, it will say 20% chance of rain tomorrow--once tomorrow comes the chance of rain increases only once it's actually raining. If it's already raining, it's not useful to look at The Weather Channel app and see 100% chance of rain the moment it starts raining. Better apps out there, usually with the news stations in the area. Really all I care about 'on-the-go' are weather alerts and enhanced radar given the daily summer thunderstorms and hurricane season (MyRadar Pro and Storm Shield fit the bill). The comments about scrolling and accidentally hitting the ads--spot on. Sure, I didn't purchase the upgraded version and I can handle/understand ads, but here they get in the way of navigation. It's aggravating to the point of hitting delete. Which is what I did. Done and done. At the end of the day, it's about user experience and reliability… take note. I also hear the paid app is more horrendous than this version so read the reviews carefully.
Buggy and intrusive ads!
Whenever I try to use this app it crashes or freezes! We had a tornado warning and I tried watching it on here while in the basement with my kids.... Of course it didn't work!!!!
STILL just as buggy as before! We had a terrible storm come through a few days ago, I checked the radar before leaving the house and it showed nothing! But 20 minutes after leaving the house with my two young children a storm with 80mph straight line winds ripped through our town! We never would have left the house! But we got caught out in it as it tore our town to shreds!
This app always crashes, and when it does work, it's not even about weather it just has a ton of stupid videos and ads! It's ONLY good for the Mpoints but the way it drains my phone it's really not even worth them! I'm deleting this app as soon as I'm done writing this review!!!! Multiple times I've looked to this app for severe weather and have been sorely disappointed, this past time my family could have been killed! I've had quite a few friends refer a different app that is actually reliable so I'm going to give it a shot! Weather isn't something to mess around with during tornado season where we live! One wrong bit of information and you can get killed! Sorry weather channel but you've failed my family too many times!!!
My least favorite weather app
On the design of app. You better be careful when you swipe down to check out the forecast as you can touch on a ad and you will be redirected two and advertisers website. A few years ago I paid for this app so I wouldn't have ads. I guess somehow that expired because the ads are back.
On the radar. Every time bad storms are moving into my area I can only view these storms if I zoom out enough so it shows my whole state. If I zoom in on my county, it's a blanked out box.
Stick with weather and stay out of politics! Your push on the Global Warming subject is over the top! Your forecast for 10 days out is always being adjusted. Even with the best weather forecasting computers known to man, you cannot accurately predict what the weather is going to be 10 days from now. And you expect us to believe you know what's going to happen 1020 or 30 years from now. Predictions from the mid-80s show that New York City was going to be underwater by 2010.
This one time Weather Channel watcher completely stopped watching them on TV due to their big political push.
So give me my app without adds that I paid for, fix the radar, stay out of politics and stick to forecasting weather.
